GTA 4 blamed for 8-year old killing caregiver: report

Why the hell is an 8-year old playing GTA, it's like handing out porn in primary school

lolwut, what does the game have to do with this? The child is obviously f**ked in the head.

-How did he get access to a gun?
-How did he get access to an R18 game?

Those should be the questions.

The child is ******* in the head. How on earth do you leap to that conclusion?

Where were the parents? And why does he have access to mature-rated games? And where did he find the gun - and have access to one so easily?

8-year-olds can and probably will have very easily influenced minds.

Thinking what's happening in a game is normal and wanting to act on the instinct of portraying what they see happening in the game.

Why do they people always blame GTA? I read that he just played GTA, but c'mon
I think Saints Row and Sleeping Dogs/true crime should deserve some advertising as well! :p

I will only believe that violence is tied to video games if I see someone carrying a giant purple dildo and nut shoting people, while being
chased by the police.

Whenever I see parents who do this I want to join them for Xmas and watch their faces when Johnny unwraps his brand new copy of barely legal sluts that he got as a present from me. I mean if you’re willing to give him GTA which is R18 then why not porn or case of beer, maybe even a pack of condoms and his first visit to the red light district.

I just hate it how the game is blame but the bigger issue of access is disregarded.

They always say you get points for killing people in GTA, but I don't recall ever getting points, just wanted stars that make the police try to kill you.

Anyway, even if there were no such thing as video games, letting an 8 year old have access to a gun is so negligent, it should be (and probably is) criminal, not to mention really stupid. But apparently Americans feel it's their god given right to be allowed to have guns just strewn around their homes. Let them have their guns, but really, make it a requirement that they have a gun safe, and go on a safety course or something.

Tell me what normal child takes a gun and shoots a 90 year old lady in the head?

It's an 8 year old, there is nothing normal about the situation. To hold an 8 year old responsible for something like this is unthinkable, it is a little kid.

Weapons like guns shouldn't be within reach of children anyway. If anything, it should be locked away in a safe or some other security device - preventing any mistakes like this - to happen.

Exactly my point. Funny how the media seems to overlook that somehow

Question: who's gun is it? , how do they know He was playing this beforehand?

I can see the scenario now, child playing gta , where are parents watching?, child fetches gun and goes for a stroll wtf ?

In any case the gun owner is going to be in serious trouble.
