GTA 5 Los Santos map leaked

The map is huge with a lot of detail.

Apparently it will have mandatory installs on both consoles with the Xbox having an install disc and a play disc.

Luckily no disc swapping.

Opinion time!!! I see the PC master race's fiercest warrior, Joker, is taking the fight to the console kiddies in a big way...:D

So as a hybrid gamer (gaming on PC and Xbox, and a devoted fan of both). I share the general opinion that GTA is a better game on PC than Xbox, but my reasoning is a bit different. You see, the reason is the same one why I rather play Skyrim on PC than Xbox...and that is mods. So many different and brilliant mods made GTA on PC a truly wonderful experience.

So I own GTA 4 on both Xbox and PC, and will be getting the pre-order next week as well. And when it comes to PC, I\ll get it then again.

At the end of the day, so few years ago there were all these articles and rumors of PC gaming being a dying breed, and I can understand Rockstar's choice to go for where the money is first. It's a pure business decision.

And as for the map, well that bad boy looks quite immense when using the scale at the bottom of the page...

Well yeah we do pay less for gaming titles but in all honesty I know most if not 99% of pc gamers would pay at least R500 for the latest GTA installment, I will go as far as to say we will gladly pay R600 for it. Its just one of those games that you can actually say its worth it.
I'm sure only a small subset of people actually purchase PC games the way you mention. PC gaming is also very niche as not everyone are very tech inclined as computer enthusiasts as to what pc components to buy/upgrade etc. Being a PC gamer is actually a double-edged sword because at the cost of being on the cusp of the technological edge you ALWAYS need money to upgrade because your components insta-depreciates and become quickly outdated.

No, no it wasn't. GFWL was.

OMG it was so shit, on top that you had to login to the stupid Rockstar thing.

Did not enjoy GTA 4 overall though, screw the friend system. You had the most fickle friends ever. I felt they took the fun out of the game that GTA 3 had to make it more "Realistic"

I had more fun just messing around and playing MP than I did playing the story missions. Still enjoyed GTA IV though, but not nearly as much as San Andreas.

Size ≠ quality.

totally agree! i think my expectation was just something like San Andreas with three distinct cities on the map. GTA V has the one city and lost of open space. i believe that the detail is insane, so i am by no means upset or disappointed :) just super excited!

Having owned consoles and relatively powerful PC's for the majority of my life so far (thanks be to God) - I have learnt a tough lesson on GTA IV when it came out on the PC. I had initially bought the game for the XBOX 360 and it played really well. Then, when it came out on PC I made sure I had a monster of a PC to run it. When I finally managed to install it, the game ran terribly, as was expected from a Rockstar console port to PC. Even though they swore it was built for the PC from the ground up.

A couple of years later and thousands of rands "invested" in my PC, I am finally able to run the game at NEAR max settings. Take into consideration that my PC specs now blows the recommended specs they had for the game back then out of the water, and I'm still not able to run the game max'ed out, and even with the years gone by and patches released, the game is still unstable and crashed quite often. So at the end of the day, I ended up owning both versions of GTA IV, one for the XBOX 360 and the other for PC. Then, the kicker - Games For Windows Live for the PC. That literally killed the experience and in the end my console version won hands down. Thank flippen goodness they killed satan's spawn which is known as GFWL.

I don't think I'll buy another GTA game for the PC again. Which is sad, because you can see the opportunities which it affords. The only reason I could justify someone buying the game for the PC is because they simply don't own a console.
