This is why I hate game publishers, always BITCHING about how pirates are ruining gaming etc, make $1billion dollars on GTA5 in 3 days, lets do multiplayer and make them bitches pay via micro transactions...

Meanwhile at Take-Two:

Knew it was too good to be true. They milk the consumers, if it ain't bad enough they make a killing off of sales they must still pull BS like this?

Why can't they just have a justified online experience for all players on equal grounds, why give players an opportunity to get a foot above the others.

Well, this is not that bad news. I mean the bundles only give you additional in-game currency, something you'll still be able to gather on your own while playing the game. It's not like the micro-transactions actually add "unique" items that are way too OP and make the game unbalanced. It just means that you'll be able to spend more cash on paintjobs than someone else. I don't see that as a horrible, earth-shattering move on their part.

A lot of unwarranted negativity; you aren't forced to buy the in-game currency, seems you can earn it through normal gameplay. Those who don't want to earn it, can buy it.

Thats the problem, one of the main reasons i left Planetside2 and Tribes:ascend. The only difference is that they are F2P while GTA:V is going to be a game you already paid for.

But the only thing added via micro transactions are cash: cash that can be easily stolen, or earned through normal play.

Put it this way: You want a very nice but expensive car, something like the Cheetah. You don't have the cash right now for it, but someone who is spending his life savings on micro transactions has bought it. What are you to do? Just steal the damn thing, or blow it up with a rocket launcher, or fly into it with a plane. Or you can just steal your own Cheetah. It's really not going to change the gameplay.

Most likely paying (well people paying for items, cars, weapon etc) will permanently get their stuff so they can just spawn it again.

Also if there is anything i have learned for F2P games with Micro transactions it's that the really nice things you can earn through normal playing is a pain in the ass to get.

Hopefully it's not too hard to earn stuff,Warframe is a shining example on how F2P games with Micro Transactions should be done.

Agreed. Really don't see what all the fuss is about.

So here is the official report from Rockstar themselves about these "micro transactions":

"if you’re the completely instant gratification type, you can choose to buy denominations of GTA$. You will have the option to purchase GTA$ through the in-game Store. The game and its economy have been designed and balanced for the vast majority of players who will not buy extra cash. There is no in-game paywall and nothing that should disrupt the balance of the game. You don’t have to spend real money to attain the cars, guns, clothes, flash and style of a high-roller in Los Santos, but can if you wish to get them a little quicker."

That's besides the point, though. The concern is the pay2win nature this brings to an online game. If everyone has to earn their cash in-game, the playing field is level. If some people are able to buy their currency, it opens the game up to pay2win tactics. Don't want to do things the hard way? Just pay your way to the top.

Either way, it's just a bad move overall. Microtransactions in premium games should not exist.

Thats exactly it, its not a level playing field anymore. Its just BS then.

Check the update as stated by Rockstar....

Also my very last comment on this very thread also states it as well; these are not your normal micro transactions and will have no effect on the overall balance of the game play whatsoever.

Hopefully you can't buy cash boosts or weapons with real cash.

From what I've read what Rockstar said, the cash you buy are truly only for those who want instant gratification in the form of cash. Normal play will still give you enough cash to be able to buy the things you want. So there's really not an advantage. Also from what I can understand you can only obtain certain items by advancing you level, which you can only do by doing missions and such. Cash will not make you level-up quicker. So even if you are a multi billionaire from buying in game cash with real money, you still will not be able to buy anything from a higher level than you are currently. Which kinda makes the whole use for the micro-transactions quite useless if you ask me. I mean I see really no point in buying these packs actually...

I just wish I would be able to grace the prance around in the online world of GTA V with some friends.. That is all.
Whether or not this breaks the game (which I doubt because it's rockstar) has yet to be seen.
