GTX 1080 or GTX 980 Ti

Hi there. I currently have a GTX 980 Ti and was wondering if a second SLI'ed 980 Ti will not give me more of an advantage than replacing the 980 Ti with a 1080?

SLI is not always going to improve performance. The 1080 will be a significant boost to the 980. However certain SLI configurations will perform better for some titles over other.
