I do believe that is Zuma or Zuma's revenge (or very similar title) and there were two of those games made and this was the second one if I'm not mistaken, my Lore(Old adventure games) is a bit rusty... No not popcap (which is making it impossible to google for this)

You misunderstand. I played this game back in 1998. This is an first person adventure game which had a DOS prequel (if my memory serves right on the second point). That was 12yrs ago so not exactly easy to remember. I'm pretty sure the game was either called zuma or had the word in the title.

I am not thinking of arcade puzzle games released by popcap games where a frog shoots coloured balls.
 
Wolfman is correct, he just doesn't have the full name.

The game is Montezuma's Return, which is a sequel to Montezuma's Revenge. I played the first game, so I realized what game he was talking about.

Yes, Wolfman is correct. It is Montezuma's Return. Montezuma's Revenge was the first game I ever played... That and alley cat :D
