The game had several very intresting & forward thinking concepts, non of them worked and the game was a resounding failure, but still. Rather dream big than not at all.

Just because a game/band/artist/movie makes a lot of money, does not mean that they are good, IMO there are 3 reasons for that
1) Publishers/record companies condition their markets to think the stuff they sell is what they like.
2) As the not so great anymore Immortal Technique said: "'cause if you go platinum, it's got nothing to do with luck, it just means that a million people are stupid as fuck"
and 3) Marketing, The hype created on CoD games alone is unbelievable.
