Guild Wars 2 Server options

As promised - a thread to chat about the server possibilities for Guild Wars 2. The local GW2 crowd is kinda spread out at the moment - which isn't a bad thing just yet because we're still in beta, but ideally I'm sure we would all like to end up on one server by the time the game goes live.

So ... list the server options here, and give some feedback about the servers you're on at the moment. With the 3rd BWE coming up, this will probably present the last chance we have to nail things down, and we all want this to go as smoothly as possible come the 25th (or 28th).

Just a note - this isn't a poll - this is a discussion. The best time for a poll would be after BWE3 and I'll post a linky up the Monday following that.

Also - if any of you popping in here are involved in any other forums, invite the guys over there to come leave their feedback here as well ;) I'll update this post as the discussion progresses.

Initial choices (based on feedback from BWE1 and 2)

* Petrified Forest
* Lakeside County
* Whiteside Ridge
* Shosa's Hollow

This thread is as important as it comes in regard to GW2 imo.

So feedback ppl and then shadowfox can update the main post and get us all together.
 
I am happy with my current server (Lakeside county) choice, but when I join a local guild before launch I will be on the server they choose.

Please also note, that when a server population is too high, it will be a bit hard to join that server.
 
Currently i am hoping on staying with Lakeside County server as well, love it.

And looking at creating my guild on it.

It's a valid point, and I think we got a taste of this in BWE 2 when we tried to transfer to Petrified Forest. Of course, ANet have increased the cap for servers so it would be less of a problem now, but, we need to keep in mind that we'll probably have a bunch of people who aren't taking part in the Early Access - so choosing a densely populated server might prevent them from joining us down the line.

For the sake of discussion - I'll list Petrified Forest, Whiteside Ridge, and Lakeside County for the time being. If you guys feel like any others need mentioning, now's the time to do it :)
 
All of this means jack to me as BWE 3 will be my first so I'll go with the majority vote :D
 
I'll see how it goes on Whiteside Ridge in BWE3. I found it to be quite pleasant and well populated. We'll see how it goes.
 
In the end, its up to the guild leader to choose a server, but shadowfoxes choices are probably the best, IMO as they seem to contain the majorety of local players.

Well ... there'll be a character wipe at launch, and I have a feeling that'll mean our initial home server options are clear as well. Which is why I'm kinda hoping for a wipe before BWE3 too - I have a feeling most Beta participants and guilds will have settled on a server choice by now - so things will be a little more clear.
 
I have no idea how up to date this list is right now - the last save was made today, but it's pretty empty http://titanpad.com/ep/pad/view/4SyT2aGiZB/latest

At the moment - our three servers are looking like this

PF - Unofficial RP Server, Roleplaying (guildwars2roleplayers.com), sanctusaugustinus.com, Fearless Guardians (PL)

LC - Empty - no info provided

WR - (UK Guild x1), (Israeli Guild x2), Reddit, GameTrailers, Team Liquid, Vgames (Israeli Community), Gamer.co.il(Israeli Community), Raven, ally Seth (IT), ally DRAG (IT), Legion D'Orr (FR), Guild Wars Insider, Raven (PL), Ordo Lupi Albi (PL), The Autonomy (PL)

I doubt it's a proper reflection of matters as they stand - so I don't want to make any calls based on just this much.
 
Played on Lakeside Country all of BWE2 and only had one disconnect at the start of the event.
Seems pleasant enough.

I will be creating the [SS] guild there with most of those players joining the same server. That is about 10-15 guys. PVP I will worry about later down the line.

Can we possibly get the guys from Inuria (also whoever is on Guildwars2SA) to come put a word in here?

PF isn't getting any mentions, so if that remains as is I don't see the point in including it on a poll at all.

Players will be able to visit other worlds as guests as long as they have friends on those worlds. This feature is free, but guest players will not be able to enter World versus World PvP, and the power of the Mists bonuses from their home world will continue to apply to their characters."

In the end its not so bad if some choose another world we can still play as a guest, but wont be able to part take in WvW.

Still choosing a home server we can all be on is essential as we can play more easily.
