Guild Wars 2

@ Tank

Problem is:
1) NC Master Account have vulnerabilities. Players connected may experience some risk.
2) Password can be only 15 chars long. Luckily, you can use special characters and numbers.

If you used special characters and numbers with yours, I barely can imagine, what could happen to meter.

Yeah, we all know the security is lacking from NCSoft / Arenanet. Some people got hacked from info stolen from the master NCSoft account etc. I am also scared atm, changed my password again two weeks ago. Go and check how many people get hacked, go check on Wiki and check on Gaile Gray's page or some of the other Anet support. Its ridiculous; the security should be improved for GW2, but hackers will be hackers..... Dont know what we should do, info is to easily obtainable.

Jagtiger ninja'd me about master account xD

Yeah Tank, we all know the Mesmer should be there! Its an awesome class unique to Guild Wars universe, so it will be shocking if it is not added. BTW, there is a Mesmer type character in the book Ghosts of Ascalon... its an awesome book btw! Damn, I should just finish reading, but Im not much of a book reading fan...

LOL! Check whn mesmer is confirmed to have been fired like the monk... Will be funny shit seeing mesmer players RAGE...

But my profession has been confirmed so I'm happy - WARRIORS FTW! Ons is Po3$ Strek!

true dat!

somehow i think the "monk" is still there, just a new name and a bit different

Okay I was thinking... YEAH I KNOW! It hurts!

But here's what I was thinking... Let's ask ArenaNet some Guild Wars 2 Questions.
Then I can post the reply in a Blog post or on the new Guild Wars 2 site I'm making for the SA community.

So post your questions here so I can get it sorted & fire an email away to ArenaNet to get some answers.

The Mesmer wont be unemployed like the Monk, that wouldnt make sense. Two years after the book they just dissappeared inexplicably, well maybe they will then be released as an awesome expansion class.... doubt that too. There is place for one more scholar, and that is the Mesmer!!!!

Q1. When do you release new professions?
Q2. So, when does the BETA start?
Q3. And yeah, when does the game get released ???
Q4. The end!

Okay I should probably have said serious questions.Stuff that you know they can't tell you should not be asked - release date, what is the next profession, give me the demo, give me the beta, etc.

Will players who have FoW armor get any benefit of it in GW2 and if not, will there be a similar armor type?

I can answer that one - It will only add to your list of rewards in Guild Wars 2 as part of the HoM Calculator. The only additional "benefit" I know of people getting is GWAMM title for those who have it.

As for similar armor type - unsure - will post question if I don't find anything on WIKI.

- 1. Cant remember in what different ways skills can be unlocked, and then how do you unlock elite skills?

- 2. Also, linked to that question, will skills when obtained be unlocked for the whole account, other characters can use them (assuming they are the same class).

-3. And btw, do you guys think all optional skills will only be class + race specific, or will there be skills available to all classes? (A Monk type self heal comes to mind).

1 - I believe they were Loot drops from Bosses & some might be rewards for "quests". Will ask about this.

2 -
In PvE and world PvP skills for the skills bar, including most weapon skills, are initially locked. The unlocking of the skill and any tiers improving the skill is restricted by the level of the player. For example, tier 9 of Point Blank Shot becomes available to be unlocked when the character reaches level 80.

There are several different ways to unlock skills:
as a reward for completing different types of combat.
the purchase of a skill guide from a skill trainer.
as a loot drop.

Pet skills and skills given by environmental weapons do not need to be unlocked and are always available to PvE and world PvP players. In structured PvP all skills are available for play without needing to be unlocked first.

Will ask about unlocking.

3 - http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Healing - more info on the healing thus far, will ask in more detail, but as of now it seems there are 2 racial healing skills, these should not be class dependant.

And it looks like Elementalists will replace the monk profession as primary healers.

An ER ele was carried over from GW1, to upkeep old traditions...

The best way to wait, is to forget about GW2 for now, and then come back to it suddenly.

I did so with other MMORPG, they mentioned about like "under development", and then after 12 months or so, I found it fully ready to use. ;) But not for long music was playing. :(

simple yes or no: will there be a class other than warrior that specializes in the use of firearms?

Yes - One class that specializes in Bows (Ranger) but can't use Firearms and one class that specializes in Firearms (Gunner/Engineer?) but can't use Bows.

I believe that will be a solid no :)

Most of the guns/cannons we saw in the demo seemed on a par with pre-industrial-era weapons ... so while gun users might have a rapid-fire/shot type skill (triple shot sort of thing) I don't think machine guns would fit in with the image the game is trying to convey.

That's my interpretation anyways.
