I think the event is absolutely terrible and the amount of grind required to buy anything even remotely worthwhile is Asian MMO scale. Tried it last night, will not do again. :/

yeah it is pretty terrible not even sure if you do it most of the weekend you will have enough for the final reward. Also a lot of the rewards are even price wise out of new players grasps. 5 gold for mechanical moa mini and 10 gold for a skin etc.
 
So who's going to be returning for HoT? Would be great if we could get a group together to do the Raids since it looks like pugging it is going to be near impossible.

So far it's Cronus, Frudi and myself that I know of.
 
I still want to start playing this but will it be like wow where if your a first timer your kinda stuck till someone is forgiving enough to boost you or how does it work?

Not sure what you mean by WoW levelling. Levelling in GW2 is pretty fast and easy going, you can hit 80 in under 40 hours.
 
It is pretty easy going. you get xp for doing almost everything. So just run around and explore the world you will be 80 in no time. You will probably have enough money to even kit yourself out in exotics.

grinding only really comes into play when you want to get ascended or legendary gear and that is more grinding for materials.

We joined Players versus Everything guild cause we were so few in Pied Crows. But yes PVE is planning to do raids. Really looking forward to them

I may make engineer my main. The scrapper has really tempted me. looking forward to trying him in this weekends beta weekend.
 
I downloaded this over the weekend and started playing on Saturday. Probably played about 3-4 hours. I'm lvl 11 now. So much fun! Still so much to learn, but luckily you get exposed to the world and game-mechanics gradually.
 
But do you still have to buy the base game or can you jsut download it and play and then go legit by buying a cd key or sub? sorry i'm asking stupid questions i'm used to wow

I'll definitely be back. Apart from logging in for short bits I've been taking a break from GuildWars for about 3 or 4 months now. I just hope I've got money for the expansion after rAge.
