Guild Wars 2

Imagine a Norn dervish waltzing into the middle of a fight.

If you're an enemy, there's no way that's not going to be damn scary. :D

When I got nightfall I created a bad ass dervish with dark skin complexion and he just looked bad ass. Then when I started playing him I realised that with him wielding the scythe he kinda looked a lot like an Alabaman field worker. :o

But yeah - Dervish = <3

Wonder if they'll combine rangers with sins to make a proper ninja type char.

Hmmm ... dunno the answer to that question, but in my book, combining the two doesn't work. They're both scout classes, but when it comes to method and range-of-attack, they're two very different beasts.

Aion very nearly got it right for me, by giving the Ranger basic stealth, and the Sin advanced hide skills ... but they cocked it up when they didn't give the ranger proper running skills. In my mind, the Ranger is the sprinter with basic stealth, that employs hit-and-run tactics, while the Sin moves more slowly, but attacks rapidly in order to take his prey down quickly.

But before you ask what that has to do with Guildwars 2 ... nothing much probably :D The ranger has already been revealed, so if a Sin type still comes in, it'll probably be a whole seperate class.

I had a thought on this and shared it with ChameleonDevil.

My idea was that the ranger is fine the way he is, but they should probably give him the ability to dual wield daggers and offer some melee defence for this class.

Almost like Legolas in Lord of the Rings... That is how I would've liked the ranger to be, but they didn't give anything like that...

On the other hand they probably will release the Sin as one of the classes and the Mesmer as the other with the Gunner profession... I would've preferred a (Pirate) Buccaneer/Swashbuckler class as we can swim in GW2 and there are pirates and ships etc.

He should have a dirty fighting style able to wield pistols, a rifle, sword and shield, daggers, etc. maybe even a crossbow. His fighting style should allow for feigns, basically he feigns attacking you with a sword from his right hand, then suddenly kicks-you-in-the-nuts TM knocking you down and being able to do a finisher on you then.

Or he should feign being downed when you get close to finish him, he stabs you in the throat...

That will be an awesome class to play :)

With advanced NPC bartering skills and sleight of hand procs when purchasing items with a chance of getting some of his money back?

ROFL :P Yeah some crit-stacking sleight of hand giving you 200% chance for money back .... imagine the gold farmers haha.

They should just release the gun wielding profession, and Mesmer ... not really bothered about an assassin class meh.... but anerfnet has got some surprises of which I will probably have to rethink my choices :P

New class revealed at GDC 2011!

The Thief!

http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/0...-profession-and-norn-starting-area-for-guild/

Sounds f'n awesome!

The press release describes the Thief well: "As a master of stealth and surprise, the thief is deadly in single combat – particularly when catching enemies off guard. Thieves compensate for their relatively low armor and health by being quick and evasive. They can travel through the shadows, vanish into thin air, or steal items from their opponents and use them as weapons."

obviously they are probably gonna be releasing all the info in the next few weeks

hopefully next week :p0

I found this pic last year in the concept art and also posted on Guru about a possible thief profession, but got shot down by people who think they know everything.

xD

I'm so glad they didn't make the Sin an actual Sin. They were to OP, but a thief should probably be a good compromise.

Having looked at the video though, the Thief is going to be a pain-in-the-ass to deal with if you take those initiative points into account. If you're looking at joining one of those mega-PvP battles ANet's mentioned but not been nice enough to release any details about yet.

But I'm looking forward to the official release.
