Guild Wars 2

One thing I can confidently say I'll likely never try is the PvP. For me GW is all about the PvE and I barely played a total of 10 minutes of PvE in GW1.

I'll probably dive into the PvP at some point, since I do get a little bloodthirsty sometimes :p

It's usually a pretty nice change of pace for me.

I'm also going to love the fact that the game has (if it's anything like the previous one) a storyline to follow. Unlike WoW where the main motive for playing is to go on raids.

This is what I love about playing Star Wars: The Old Republic. Every class has a storyline that runs all the way to level cap. All of it is voice acting and cut scenes, with choices that have quite an impact. You also feel the character progression as you carry on.

So it's not just a case of clicking on an npc that says "well met!" and clicking 'accept quest' without reading what the objectives are. What I like as well is depending on the conversation you have with the quest giver, your quest objectives can change entirely.

Sadly, i think the press beta will still be under a NDA for a bit :( WTB moar info !

Press beta won't be under NDA - that would defeat the entire purpose of a press invite. They'll be releasing coverage on the 20th of February.

Sorry, I should have put this also in when I posted the link, so shadowfox is correct.

This is where I got the link: from Anna M from Arenanet (on Google+):
Though we can't share the beta invite, we will be sharing impressions and video of ArenaNet's Guild Wars 2 on February 20.

I heard the open beta is out in March.
Can anyone confirm?

They'll most likely be starting with the sending of Beta invites during March - and this will mean weekends of Beta Events, similar to what they did with GW1's pre-launch. Every weekend will essentially see larger and larger groups of people being given access.

I'd be more inclined to call them closed public betas rather than open betas per se.

I'm hoping that GW1 account holders get first dibs for beta access. :)

Lol sorry to tell you guys but you have to sign up for a beta key ;)

And what do you base this statement on?
Beta keys are distributed in many ways these days.Signing up is only one of them.A-net has long been supportive of the current guild wars community. So why(from a marketing stand point)would they allow randoms in when they already have a HUGE player base just waiting for the orgasm that is GW2?
