What you say is true, but my motivation for pre-purchasing is to get guaranteed access to the beta events. I have a whole HoM full of fluff waiting for me, so the Hero's Band etc. is not really the be-all-end-all for me. That said, you may be the wiser for waiting until launch (or shortly after) ... the first few days are going to be chaos! lol At least when you come in, the first swarm of players would have moved on and spread out through the game-world a bit. :D

Neways, hoping to see many fellow saffer's in game after launch. It's going to be a blast! :)
 
OK!!! im a tad confused now... Ive pre purchased and registered my key with Anet, but my little brother (who uses my old yahoo account) got an email from Anet this morning inviting him to a closed beta "Stress Test" event this weekend... he made the account and got linked to the beta support forum and has asked me to download the client for him as my dad only has a 384 line and im on 1mb... but i was under the impression that all beta events after pre purchase we as pre purchasers were getting access to???

It's a stress-test - not a full on beta event. I've seen a couple of folks getting invites to it - I'd rate they want to give their servers a fairly hefty workout in preparation for the flood that's going to hit during the first full beta.

If things are going to fall over they'll want to be aware of them beforehand.

It is now three days that I am waiting for my key from BT. Took them a whole day to confirm my order, then another to confirm my payment, and if we follow the pattern I'll likely only get it tomorrow morning. Because apparently paying and ordering at 9am in the morning isn't enough time for them to finish an order.....
Bloody rediculous.
 
Just waiting on my key. Payed for and everything. Yes so I gave in and will be taking part in the betas etc.

Yes yes, more than just my inner GW2 fanboy causing the cave-in.

I Pre-Purchased so I can get the files before release day, slow internet and all. Also I want to check out how the ping etc is, latency for the future. That and so the GF can just pickup and play on release day with her pre-order.
 
Well that is odd, when I was looking for it I couldnt find it at all. So I have sent a complaint since I have paid for my preorder already.
