Guild Wars 2

I think you'd like playing as Ranger.

It's very versatile, although you'd have to see for yourself. But as I said, I think you'd enjoy it :)

I played as a ranger and i must admit... the pet more often than not is your main issue. The pet dies so quickly that it achieves nothing and the revive time on it takes so long you end up dying as well.

That put me off a little bit, but the ranger itself is really awesome, especially if you are rocking a longbow... geez like you peel away guys hp with the rapid fire ability.

I spent more time running around looking at stuff than actually leveling (when i logged off last night was a level 11 but i had discovered just about all of the point of interest in the norn main city and surrounding areas) i tried out the WvW as well... that i must admit was not fun. not because of the gameplay (WHICH WAS AWESOME!!!) but because of the FPS issues. when you have 50+ people firing off spells and running around the fps plummeted... was running at roughly 9fps most of the time when in fights. This should be sorted out with final release so i cant wait :P

I didnt want to get too into the game either because of it being beta and we lose all character data anyways but they must hurry up and release the game... i NEEDS IT NAO!!

Well - it seems the next BWE is about a month away, which means we have plenty of time to start drooling again. It also means we're likely to see some rather significant changes the next time we get to step into the world.

Some of the biggest issues I see at the moment are:

1. Server capacity - I think I spent about 90% of my time on the overflow servers. It's a great mechanic, it means you can play and progress despite the server being full, but I don't think there should be more people on overflow than on the actual home server. It also makes grouping up a bit of a pain, and events tend to fall apart a bit because there aren't enough people.

2. Chatting - I've picked this up on Reddit as well, but GW2 needs a /say function. I never knew how to thank someone who revived me (and it happened alot :D ), and in the end I always had to settle for /local, which isn't ideal. /say with a chat bubble would have been great, since whispering an individual is a bit of a pain since you needed to type their names in.

You sure about that? Because i saw somewhere on GW2 Tweets this would have been the last BETA event before release?

Lol. Guy asks "how come the beta is still active?"
I type "their watches ....." boom, the beta closes my game. :( :D

If all they changed for the next BWE is fixing the FPS issues caused by prioritizing the CPU over GPU... ill be a happy bunny.
Id also like an in-game FPS/Ping meter and then the same as shadow above though id like a fully customizable chat bar that you can separate chats into its own little bubble and then move it anywhere on screen. hopefully there will be add on support for GW2 as well.
Then in terms of class fixes (talking ranger cause that all i played) either beef up the pets HP or defense. possibly introduce a pet specific healing spell instead of a cast where its either on you or on the pet or the heal as one ability. because when you are at full HP and u cast HaO the pet dies anyways and then your healing spell is on cooldown so you get Effed when the mobs come after you.

I doubt it. One player chatted with a dev in Lion's Arch and apparently they'll be announcing the next BWE soon. Also, language used in the pre-purchase copy suggests there'll be more than one, as in - "access to all BWEs".

The other clincher for me - there's too much that still needs fixing and all the fixes will need testing as well. If nothing else, the player induced DDoS that took place on Friday night will have to get another test run.

+1.

They DID sat that there will be another BWE in May. They also said there will be at least 2 BWE's.

My friend in the beta said that the "Stress Test" was a big miserable failure. The servers weren't stressed at all. I think for a stress test they need to do a mass invite of 100k people and give them 2 hours for login attempts and ... you get the picture.

Agreed. I expect no less than two more BWE's before final release. There's still plenty to do over a Anet hq.

That is what did not make sense.. It stated we will have access to all Beta Events.. and then i readed it would be the last, so i do hope they did not troll us.

Here we go, if confirmation is still desired - this was posted by ANet on their FB page yesterday:

Many of you may have noticed you’re able to now login! Go enjoy your time with Guild Wars 2 and remember, there will be a beta weekend roughly every month or so until release (schedule subject to change)! So this isn’t your last chance, its your first chance to experience the game before launch!
