Guild Wars 2

I'll be trying to get my lvl 20 something Gaurdian to 35 so I can try out the Ascalonian Dungeons, pretty amped. Would be nice if we can get a group or 2 consisting of only locals for the dungeon :D

So when I get back from watching Prometheus it should just about be time to log in. :D

I'm going to watch it too on Friday, hence me asking lol. Menlyn Numetro 3D @ 9 :P

The movie is 2 hours long hey so think GW2 should be up by the time it's over (for me anyway)

Ok I was all for Petrified Forest and ready to play there until i saw this

http://www.arena.net/blog/mike-ferguson-on-wvw-updates

Petrified Forest seems to be tied for last in the WvW fights makes me kinda hesitant :(

I hear nothing bad about Gandara might go there instead

I am with you, though on the other edge of the sword the servers doing SO well in WvW will have a higher population of elitist pricks.

I've a question about 'home worlding'. I made a char on a random server and leveled to like 7 so far, is that now my homeworld or can I still change?

PvP is really a minor consideration for me - to be completely honest. It's something I hop into for a few minutes at most - my 1,300+ hours in GW1 probably includes about 10 - 20 hours of PvP max.

There's also no real way of saying what the situation will be like when the game is live.

And Spartan's point is also a pretty big one - my overall experience with people who mostly PvP (I'm generalising a bit, but bear with me) has been more negative on average. Even in GW.

Balances are probably going to shift quite a bit this weekend with people trying to find their places - for the time being I'm still in favour of hitting PF and then scouting out some of the other servers to check out the atmosphere. If anything, I don't think I'll be nailing my home server until the final BWE, and right now PF has more pluses than minuses for me.

In any case, if most people are in favour of PF, shout now - personally I'd like to make a call before I leave the office this afternoon :)

It's kinda defeatist though, don't you think?

Like ... let's not side with the losers and join the winning team instead. Why not challenge yourself - join the losing world and do your bit to get them winning sometimes. If people run away from the losing world because, y'know, they're losing, they'll never have a chance of winning.

Besides which, constantly winning gets boring after a while.

By the way - tags list is updated - we have 17 names now :) [PROOF]

I'm good with PF, I just hope I can jump ship before the open transfers end :( Damned social life, getting in the way! :p

I've already seen Prometheus & played a bit of GW2 at the Eurogamer Expo last year...

Hah, playing for 20 mins at a loud Eurogamer event hardly compares to playing in the comfort of your home for a whole weekend. :p

As for servers I'm going to stick with PF, who the hell cares if they are not doing well at the PvP side of things.

There are still a few known issues with the game - they're listed on the GW2 forum here.

Since there are still updates rolling out, I can only assume they're still working on some of those.

Also - game is still CPU bound ;)

Dammit! This is my biggest problem with the game atm. It's not feeling like it should because of the low fps...

I understand why they're doing it though - they're trying to optimise it as much as they can so it runs smoothly on lower-end systems. Once they've optimised as much as they can I expect they'll remove the restriction and we'll be able to enjoy the game in all its glory.

I'm still mostly bug-hunting though - so I'll try and avoid the bigger fights for the time being :)

CPU BOUND STILL!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
dammit :/
oh well, ima be on PF anyways :p they obviously need some help, so let us saffers get in there and show them buggers how its done!

Okay - one piece of info - according to a thread on the GW2SA site submitting a server transfer is likely to put you out of the playing for a few hours. So ... no idea how that will affect things for you guys - I'm going to go ahead and do it anyways. If it means losing a few hours - well ... it's a beta, so I'll take the risk and provide feedback here ;)
