Guild Wars 2

Guys in the end half of europe might join the server we choose. No one knows exactly who wil be on the server.

Unless its made officialy Russian, anyone can or will join.

Already it is causing a split. Those who decided AG after the last major vote will be staying, so this vote will split the guilds between servers. Shirou my call would be to stop this vote now and stick to what was voted on. The Russians have already made contact and they seem friendly enough.

Guilds on GW2SA are staying on AG so are a few others I have seen.

Things looking good with sticking with AG anyway :) so the votes will most probably just stick staying on Aurora Glade hehe.

Yeah I see that, still a bit concerned with the split if GH wins. To be honest with you the Ruskies don't bother me at all. Pleasant down to earth people....

Aurora Glade it is for us unless there is a drastic turn of votes.

Help in getting you guild on voting as well :) Share some opinions, after this poll i don't want such thing again.

Ok, I will join what ever server, every one else chooses, got a few friends aswell that are going to play so just need a server where all or most of the local players are going to be.

There are other guilds I am going to join aswell from GW1. So I am able to guest on there server.

The guild just wants to play where the majority of the SA community goes. That is their opinion on the matter.

Hey guys

Sorry for being so scarce, but I am - as Wyvern indicated - stuck in the middle of nowhere and I have a ton of work on top of my head, so I have a hard time paying attention as much as I would like.

As with the SS guys, we want to stick with the SA majority, but this also points to why I wanted all the discussions concentrated in one place - because everyone is going hairball with this now. So Southern Legion seems to have decided on Gunnar's Hold (when I checked now it was 31 to 18 in favour of) while the concensus on Guildwars2SA says stay on Aurora Glade.

So we now have 2 equally big communities saying different things - and it's more confusing because there's an overlap of members.

At this particular point I'm looking to park off on Aurora Glade with my few guys - but ArenaNet is allowing a period of grace after launch during which we'll be able to transfer for free. I recommend we use that time to scope things out properly. The idea that the server is going to be mostly Russian does bother me a bit, I like them as people but having Russian pop into chat on a regular basis (and it will, despite one or two promises to the contrary) is a nuisance factor.

Can I ask that we come to some sort of solid conclusion by Thursday. Last minute debates like this isn't doing my peace-of-mind any favours.

Sadly, you will not be able to "guest" with them. It will not happen at launch (Anet stated this) and they are not giving an ETA for when it is happening. I am in the horrible position now where I have to tell friends of mine that I cannot play with them in the foreseeable future since I am following the larger community. I have the issue now, which I was hoping I was not going to have because of the guesting feature, that I now have to tell some friends bye bye, till later and others not. You cannot even make characters on other servers either, which SUCKS even more, I cannot make characters to play with some friends and other characters to play with other friends.

I am really pissed, really, really pissed. I hate having to choose between my friends. ARGH!

Where do you get this idea that it will be mostly Russian? Even if those are the people who have registered their guild at what not, that is probably only representative of the particularly 'hardcore' crowd and there is really no way of telling what the overall composition of the server will look like.

There's a fairly heavy Russian and Czech component on there, and also one Turkish legion and one Spanish legion. In terms of legion numbers, it still seems to be predominantly English, but the biggest guilds on there are the Russian ones.

Ive noticed ive been lumped with a lot of Russians lately in Dota 2 and seeing them chat amongst each other in Russian is... disconcerting... to say the least, but a lot of them do revert into English, granted its broken English, but English none the less.
Im happy with AG but i shall be following Spartan either way

What I am saying is that the kinds of people who register on sites like those probably are only going to make up maybe 15-20% (if that) of the total population.

Exactly what about... Say 1 000 other South Africa people pick up GW 2 on launch day and choose a random server?

Not sure what you are trying to say?

What I'm saying is that it would be better just to pick one server and stick with it, jumping around now because you suspect it may have a language basis is a bit premature at this stage.

Misinformed people will choose servers at random, so people not informed of our choices on MyGaming and Southern Legion will choose any server that has a med/high population out of principal.

I had a look at the posts on Southern Legion's website about server choice... They are still uncertain. Why did they have to change in the first place? I played GW with people from all over the world and in the end we had a few problems with the language barrier, but we had fun and got things done.

Also, the guild listed cant be 100% accurate, there is going to be a lot more people on what ever server they choose in the end.
