I pre-ordered twice to make sure I get my copy. I got sent 2 pre launch keys. One I've registered, the other is still unused.

I haven't paid yet, so did they make a mistake?

Matters not. The pre launch key only gets you one day headstart and it expires shortly after launch day. So you will have to register your CD key to continue playing past launch.

AH haha damn ok. I thought maybe I got lucky.

Update servers are up yes, but it seems there are still some issues with the log in servers.

I suppose hoping for a flawless launch might have been a bit naive on my (our? :p) part ... but keeping in mind that the ANet team were pretty much pulling an all-nighter trying to fix things - you've got to give them some credit :)
 
Well, so begins the tale of another shitty release.
Why can't these devs just ever get it right anymore? It's always the same garbage too... "We didn't expect such a rush!".

I hope all this is sorted by Monday/Tuesday...

I think it was a case of "BWE load would be as close as you get to real release", but the load that the head start release put on the servers might have been even more than what they anticipated. Give the guys a break. They worked hard, and are still working hard to make this game an amazing experience for us.

It's sorted now.

I've been playing for 2 hours now without any issues.

HEh. If it is not topping diablo 3, hellgate or AOC launch issues... I'd hardly call it shitty. Even trion had few hours issues as well as TSW.
