MWEB Cape Town, have lots of fun lag. Ask Wyvern I lagged so hard one night that literally a minute went by before my game caught up... :(

I did let MWEB know about the issue and last night was a lot better, fingers crossed it remains that way.

but I am moving to a new house as Shirou already knew and telkom is taking ages to instal our line

I am also dealing with the loss of a family member which he also knew about and has made the last while very tough on me

I welcome Shirou to make a list of everything I did wrong for everyone to see. I tried my hardest from day 1 and there is not a single thing I am ashamed of.

Do you think Shirou can say the same?

Sigh.. its hard to know where to begin but I'll write down things as I see them.

Having been a proud member of SL from the start, I worked quite hard to build the guild into something we could all be proud of. One issue from the start however we had two guild leaders, one people liked to work with, one people didn't like to work with. Those would be Shirou and bushbaby.
Now, accuse me of Bias if you like but I have been gaming with Bushbaby (Deon) for about 2 years now, against and with. Part of why I backed him when Southern Legion was starting is cause of his happy-go lucky nature and his generally likable demeanour. The unknown was Shirou, I was against the pairing up but everyone else was for it and my voice was drowned out by the happy outcry to be the largest effort seen in gaming history to get all of SA together, on one server. South African's playing with other South Africans. GW2SA of course had a large part in this.

Now, things started, our numbers swelled massively and so 2 guilds were needed. All of this so far lovely, my concern from the start is while we were a massive guild there was no sense of "guild" or "family" ultimately you just ran around and may as well have been part of no guild if you didn't have serious friends in the guild.

Anyway, I did what I could, got the team structure going and started the vanguard, I started to get that sense of guild within a guild.

This is more or less where the drama started.
Shirou spent truly minimal time in wvw, suddenly wanted "SA's" First commander, guild donations pls. Why I dont know, regardless people donated their very precious gold at the time for this noble goal. This is more or less when the drama started. The moment something went wrong, Deon was blamed for it. Why was this guy kicked? I dunno, bushbaby did it.

Well today it just kept getting worse. Deon started getting worn down, I'd chat to him on G-talk where he would vent. It also became apparent that Shirou's understanding of diplomacy was about the same as a penguin's understanding of nuclear physics. He'd call other guild's "kids" or "I dont trust them" and the drama started to get really bad between gw2sa and SL. I cant say much for all that cause I wasn't there.

When a topic was made to highlight a meeting on GW2sa's mummble to deal with wvw, his excuse was "I dont wanna deal with backstabbers". This statement is pretty typical of Shirou, his own ego and feelings taking precedent over the community and guild itself. Furthermore a member made a topic advertising it and Shirou promptly deleted it. When I asked him about this, he claimed bushbaby or autumn did it. Both of these guys who I trust claimed they knew nothing about it. I asked Shadowwolf to attend as shadow has always been a lieutenant of myne and someone I trust deeply.

Anyway, bushbaby's limit was finally reached. He wanted to step away from SL, interestingly he wanted to hand it over to me. I agreed but I requested (as I had to move on short notice) that he please stick around till I get internet. He agreed. This was somewhere around mid-October.

Anyway, over time myself and shadow-wolf have gotten increasingly frustrated with Shirou, his xenophobic approach meant it was "us or nothing" but he didn't do anything anyway. When you say "he hosted sunday wvw stuff" did he actually do anything that the normal zerg couldn't offer? Was it any better? no.
Today though, it really hit the fan. He made a post without talking to anyone about reshuffling the guild. This was later deleted and of course, bushbaby was blamed. This was hella interesting cause I was the one who told him about it AFTER it was deleted. Deon could be lying but I dont see why he was.

anyway. I'm gonna send you a log of a convo I had with Shirou this morning when asked about the website being deleted:

Shirou: jip
Thank goodness i took a backup from it this morning.
Now i just need a domain, new hosting.

Shirou is now attempting to run some kind of smear campaign to damage Deon's good name.

Anyway, its my opinion that Shirou is unstable. He is actively damaging the guild and blaming it on bushbaby. I don’t know if he’s trying to take over or what the deal is but thats how I see it.
Anyway, this drama is just too much. If you have much sense I suggest make peace with the fact that SL will never be the same again, I for one am done here and will be leaving to form something new.

Wyvern - have you found a recipe for crafting popcorn yet? I've picked up tons of candy corn over the Halloween event, but it's not quite the same thing :p

Anyways - on to more important things - how many of the STI guys still need to do the second act's scavenger hunt. Since I believe Act 4 is launching tonight, so I kinda want to get it done, so if anybody else needs it, we should go mini-zerg it or something :D
 
@Shadow I have everything done except the tea party.

We want to give you a heads up about Phase 4 of the Halloween event. Phase 4 will start at 9:00 AM PDT/16:00 GMT on October 31, and will run until we publish a new build on November 1 (which will be sometime after Noon PDT/19:00 GMT).
Once Phase 4 starts, the Ascent to Madness dungeon will no longer be available – but you will still be able to enter the Mad King’s realm, including the Labyrinth, the Clocktower, Reaper’s Rumble and Lunatic Inquisition.
Also make sure that you will “Attend the Party” in Lion’s Arch once Phase 4 starts, and do not worry: It is a non-stop party, so swing by any time you want!

There is also a 40 meg update lets hope Sorrows embrace is fixed now then we can run it after the Halloween stuff.
 
Rage post incoming:

I am a member of SL, STI, Knights of Aghulas, Scatterlings(GWSA) and one other, a small friend based guild. I regularly pop into each of these to see where the guild chat is, when I see it happening, I stay. Yes, I ONLY use guild chat, not voice comms. When I run a dungeon or do WvW with guildies, I use voice comms. Unfortunately 95% of the time, the ONLY guild chat happening is in SL. I have a theory about that. The more MMO newbies you have in your guild, the better the guild chat.

Look, I am not insulting any of the other guilds I am a member of by saying that they don't have guild chat happening, I am just stating a fact. I rely on guild chat to get involved, to help, to join dungeons runs, to get and give advice etc. I don't see it happening in the other guilds. Now this crap has happened and it is making me kitten angry. Now I have a choice: watch smear campaigns and crap happening in SL guild chat, hoping for something useful to come up or stare at the *tumbleweed* in STI, Scatterlings, Knights.

Why don't I use voice chat for general guild connectedness? Because I LOVE the in game sounds, trust me, no matter the fact that I have heard my guardian shout "Save yourselves!" 5 million times, I still like hearing it. Voice comms spoils that for me.

"Sorry Logan, what did you just say about why you left Destiny's Edge? Please repeat that, someone just asked where the new Ori nodes were and dimmed your soliloquy out. Oh crap, I have to play through the whole story quest line again on another character to hear it, oh well."

So now I am REALLY pissed at BOTH Shirou and Bushbaby, since no one really knows what happened. They have spoiled my guildwars 2 guild feeling COMPLETELY.

Now I have to decide which guild I am going to leave (you can only be a member of 5 guilds max) to see where else I can find active guild chat.

I hate guild drama, really spoils everything for me.

We use a mix of the two, at the moment a few of us are on ts more since we are running dungeons one after the other. The other reason our chat is quiet - we have currently about 15 active members.
