Does GW ever really finish?

Busy in the charr lands in GWEN now with my newly dinged paragon. Much nicer than the frost areas, but the bosses are pretty nasty. I cannot for the life of me kill that undead boss chick in the Level3 cathedral thingum. :/

Oh ... and why has nobody ever mentioned the mounable Scorpion tank? It is 10 types of awesome!

I wouldn't say so. I've clocked about 1,300+ hours in that game, and I know there's tons of content I haven't come across yet. Besides the fact that they keep adding new stuff leading up to the GW2 release - some of which I haven't touched either.

I assume you mean Cathedral of Flame? I, and a bunch of my mates, had so many runs through there we even had a nickname for her, not that I can remember it now. I think she's actually one of the easier bosses to put down in EOTN - there are bosses that are way more insane - including a few I've never been able to kill.

That's the one!

When you're permanently running on -60% death penalty, and no previous boss-encounter experience, the bosses seem a fair bit harder.

I haven't altered my heroes' default attacks/skills, so it's very difficult to take down some mob packs. In most cases it takes us 3 death runs to take out 5 mobs. Killing 1 mob at a time before we wipe.

Okay, it's been a while since I've been in there, so I'm a little hazy on the details, but you'll definitely want to play around with your builds before going in there. Specifically, if you have any Ele's in your squad, switch them away from Fire based spells, since most of the mobs in there are pretty fire resistant. Also, if you can have one mob with skills that do holy damage, that's a plus, since most of the things in CoF are undead, so they take 150% damage from those.

Don't know what to tell you about those enchanted weapons ... those things hit hard as hell. Just play careful and take your time, and be really careful with your pulls - a bad pull in there and you can maar vergeet - it's a group wipe.

How do you get to Ascalon from EOTN?

The hard way. You gotta run there :D

It's less hard than annoying actually ... if you have a full group of level 20's (H/H obviously) - the mobs get lower and lower as you're going along, until they get to level 8, so they're not a threat per se, but at the same time you can't really ignore them, so you're forced to pelt them to get them off your back.

Beyond that, it's just a really long run and not fun to do.

As for the detail ... if you have an NF character (since it's a Paragon I'll assume this is the case), you have to do the docks quest first - the one that gets you off the island and gives you access to Elona proper. You should then be able to take a ship to Lion's Arch - and from Lion's Arch you have to run through to Ascalon.

It's not possible to run directly from EOTN to Ascalon, even though it's technically next door.

Ah thanks a bunch!

Yeah, I've done the docks quest on my Derv and my Prophecies Ele - I just cannot for the life of me find the questgiver for it now on my paragon.

Btw, how is it that I see strange gear on everyone, but the armor retailers just seem to have stock standard gear - even the gw wiki shows pretty plain gear. (Ele obsidian looks miff)

(Also, yesterday I finally figured out how to force heroes to use certain skills. Finally got Pyro Fierceshot to tame a Black Wolf! :D)

I'm assuming doing a Drok's run to get to the one armor vendor has something to do with this?

Speaking of ... who'se keen to take me on a Drok run?

Well, you'll see some more absurd armors going around these days, you can wear costumes lately, So I'll assume thats what you're referring to :P

I have mentioned this alot of times in this forum, but Ill do it again as its 1000s of pages in this thread :P
It is not necessary to do the quest.... go to Kamadan (preferrably busy US districts) and wait for or ASK for a ferry to the docks. Get some money from your storage, pay the person 500g and they will ferry players to the continent they want access to; so it is possible to skip those first quests in NF this way.

I have done this with 2 of my characters previously, getting to level 20 in about 2:30 hours from start, and then running to Gunnars Hold for my survivor Dervish.

But, then the problem is still -> running from LA to Ascalon :D

:snip:
Yes. It does, given that you have not enough least time to get remaining titles.

You can finish titles bit-by-bit with such titles as Skill, VQ, Guardian, etc nowdays.
But titles as sweet, drink, party (that what I have remaining and allegiance on top) and respectively need time to get cash for those titles. I found, most efficient way to farm is DwG, but need at least 2 hours to complete run, given it's running smoothly and connect stable (Cell C does NOT reconnect back to server, iBurst do). Yet, if it is done on weekly basis, it takes absurdly long and point of playing is lost. Now, with university, there is no time to play at all (or at cost of sleep, play till morning and sleep between(and on) lectures! In addition I say, it is worth mostly.). It is known that next years will be same and no opportunity to spend 12hrs@day. Doesn't looks like I will have enough time.

Not sure about exact hours, my time is about 2800hrs+. Going to "seal" account on holidays.

I have only done 1900 hours on my account, and still have alot to do. I am currently (WHEN I have internet available :( ) just doing VQs, having completed my Nightfall vanquisher title a while ago. I tend to do stuff in cycles, once I get bored with something I will do something else. I still need to cap about 40 skills in Nightfall then I have Legendary Skill Hunter.

I just think doing it this way the game does not get too repetitive in some way... I dont like farming an area over and over and over. The most farming I would do is one hour a day, for a few days... and then not going back to that area or any other farming for a while. My target of 40+ is close; but very far actually..as its impossible without internet :'(

I would never complete Drunkard / Party / Sweet Tooth titles by just farming for money; although all at about 1200 points each on my Ranger, 10k points each is ALOT of money... however if I can get another few Bone Dragon Staffs dropped from Fendi I might just do it :D

OMG I FINALLY HAVE INTERNETS AGAIN AT MY HOME!

YAY!

But I have a shitload of work to do these coming weeks so my internets and Guild Wars will have to take a back seat until I finish the website for my client.

Then it's Guild Wars time again xD

Well my time is almost done (December should be the final month) and all I will need to is two things - of which I doubt I will never max
Zaishen and Lucky/Unlucky title
Want to try make 1 mil again for Canthan New Year for next year so I can stand on the corner ring for the whole event and hopefully see Rank 5 - Zaishen will mostly likely just be done to pass the time by to get to GW2 beta / actual game.
Doubt I'll ever max Treasure Hunter or Wisdom unless I decide to skip Zaishen and push for those ...
One thing I'm happy/proud about is my main (Necro) is the one with all the rewards on HoM Calculator - so Happy with that little man ^.^ but after 3 years of playing cant get over a game has kept me so in love with it for this long lol

Yeah I still have loads to do. I wont ever finish the Lucky/Unlucky, Wisdom, Treasure hunter titles, even though have have gotten quite far with them.

Zaishen I won't even try. As long as I have my GW2 rewards unlocked I'm happy :)

not after any titles no more.

just doing survivor for teh lulz, a guy with 3252 deaths with legendary survivor is gonna be hella funny

Ye is kind o a bug with me lol
Since Ive started I've loved the titles feature - it was never to show off or anything but rather to state you have played the game and earned these titles - ok speed clearing wasn't big when I got into the game 2008 but still.

My main aim is to get to 45/50 just like that title Legend of the Mists. This it will be awesome for my Thief or even my Necro :)

I would love to get the Legends of the Mists title simply because my secondary character was named Makie of the Mists.

But - I doubt I'll have the time :)
