Guild Wars - General Discussion

I'm keen to complete the good old Prophecies campaign on my sin, need to acquire the client again... my previous install was a 6Gb gw.dat file

I've been jumping across campaigns doing random stuff on my Ele ... I haven't done anything beyond Lion's Arch in Prophecies and I actually need to get into it. I've done a bit to get some heroes in Nightfall, and struggling in the big city in Factions. It gets boring just lurking with heroes and minions all the time.

Really? 0.o But mine's only about 4.4GB at the moment? How'd yours get that big?

Well the guy I got it from has been playing since GW was released, and the dat file obviously had the original maps/textures

@Voicy lol, my wammo is still sitting in LA... I dread the Jungle

Mine's just under 4gigs lol. Definitely WAY too big.

Compared to Aion? 13.6GB and counting :D

And rumors put the next major patch at anything between 300MB and 1GB.

But old maps and textures and so on - yeah, that sorta makes sense. I've only been running the game for 3 years now.

I really enjoyed Aion aside from the terribad grind for those airborne nodes you had to farm. With my lag I died more times than I care to mention - and respawning back at your 'hearthstone' AND having to pay mad amounts to buy back XP and res sickness AND travel back to where you died ... not cool.

After reading about the new Guild Wars 2 info that's been released and seeing the absolutely amazing spells and effects and stuff Guild Wars feels grossly inadequet now xD BUT GW2 is looking rather far along the development cycle.

Yep GW2 seems to look amazing. BUT, I can't focus on that yet :( still need to do lots of stuff in GW!

Take 2 has it listed for R272 - which has all the campaigns + Eye of the North - in my view, an absolute bargain.

However, you'll have a pretty limited time to work your way through the campaigns - so its a bit of a toss up. 6 of one and half a dozen of the other - only you will know how much time you can spend playing :)
