Guild Wars - General Discussion

You'd be nuts not to buy it :) It's an absolute steal at that price. Where else are you going to get 3 quality games and an expansion at that price?

Yeah I bought it almost 2 years ago! I haven't put it down since.

Almost filled my Hall of Monuments. Just 6 more weapons and 8 minis!
Now just to max a couple more titles and I can get that elusive Rainbow Phoenix!

I got bored of GW, think it was lack of having friends to play with online. Anyone keen to jol sometime let me know. Wouldn't mind playing it again.

Me and some mates have started playing this again, doing the Quests that lead up to GW2 :D

Add me to friends list ingame, then we can likes too kill some Charr's.

I've also started popping in from time to time again - mainly working on the War In Kryta questline. Blame the sudden explosion of twinking asmos in Aion.

Thanks TimstaH, will definitely add you.

Haven't played in a few months and couldn't log in last night cause I forgot my char names.

I was dam impressed with the GW support, emailed me within 30 mins with my char name.

I play in a local guild JAG, we occasionally all get on together to vanquish an area, things have been going slow of late tho.

I play almost daily.

I have recently started Vanquishing areas and I'm almost halfway with the Nightfall vanquishing. I'm also actively pursuing some titles, Protectors titles mainly, have 2 already, just need Nightfall and then the EotN titles are also on the list.

I have been playing for almost 2 years now and have my own full Guild Hall - don't get your own one too damn expensive xD.

I'm also filling up my Hall of Monuments for Guild Wars 2 and to get that rare and elusive Rainbow Phoenix pet.

If any of you wish to join me in some vanquishing or titles hunting or even my small guild pm me in game.

Alas vanquishing has never caught on to me. It's very grindy. That wouldn't usually be a problem, but grinding alone in instances makes me feel a little lonely :D

I'm lucky in that a lot of the people in my alliance are busy vanquishing areas at the moment, so whenever I'm on and they're doing it I hop into a group and we generally clear an area in about 30 - 40 minutes.

It does smack of grinding a bit, but the upshot is that once an area is done you don't need to go back there - and its one of the best ways towards maxing your titles.

Vanquishing was quite taxing job for me before and I struggled a lot.

I remember vanquishing Old Ascalon and it took me almost 2 hours by myself. I recently made a build for my monks and that uses Unyielding Aura on both of them with the exact same skills. All healing skills heal 50% more and are divine favor skills that also benefit from the extra healing divine favor offers. So all the spells heals for double the amount and are party wide.

Then I added some Mesmer skills for energy management and interrupt. A rez isn't worth bringing as UA acts as an instant rez when someone dies (if someone dies).

My buddy takes some Discord and MM heroes and I equip my scythe on my warrior with Save Yourselves! and some strength skills as well as Aura of Holy Might. Also I add Warriors Endurance for energy management and just let loose an average of 150 damage per attack x3 as the scythe attacks 3 enemies if positioned right.

Now HM has become NM. Actually HM is laughable at best with this combo.

Here is the template code for the build I'm using:

W/D Endurance Scythe: OQoiExpMZXIDKU0c9f1pFDyXBA

* Can swap Flail with Pain Inverter, Asuran Scan or Light of Deldrimor for extra AoE damage.
* Critical attacks against bosses (lvl 28) can yield around 210+ damage.
* Undead suffer completely at anything from 250 - 522 damage per shot.

Monk 1: OwUVMw26k3AXihoBsL6iAjIDoHACEA Uses Spotless Mind for Hex Removal.

Monk 2: OwUVMw26k3AXihoBsL6iAjIDoHICEA Uses Spotless Soul for Condition Removal.

For Discord heroes you can check PvX Wiki for the complete set of builds.

Started an Ele/Rt Survivor Today (finally managed to get GW installed aswell :P) Got her to level 14 now, had a guildie run me through zen daijun and from there I got myself towards eotn. Now busy doing all the quest I skipped with my heroes, so easy :P

@Magnarmalok Yeah the easiest way to get to level 20 with survivor and max your survivor would be Dwarven Brawling in EotN.

That being said, one lag-spike can end your aspirations of Legendary Survivorhood. I've lost any number of potential survivor candidates like that.

gatemonkey? The hell is that?

When you're in pre-searing ascalon, you always ask for a gatemonkey in trade to join your team so he can work the lever to open the gate to the Charr's camp grounds for you.

So yeah...anyone who is in pre-sear I refer to as a potential gatemonkey.

Ahaha .. that explains my confusion. That would be for someone who wants to get the Protector of Ascalon (or something along those lines) title. But that is as close to a grind as you can get in Guildwars - I honestly never had the patience to even try.

That title and Survivor are mutually exclusive in any case.
