Guild Wars - General Discussion

Congrats :) Well by far the easiest way to do is in Gunnars Hold to run the dwarf dungeon Kilroy Stonekin's Punch-Out Extravaganza in NM, and MAYBE later on in HM. This way you get the human element (rambo / afk / fail players) that can destroy your Survivor, in which you run solo ... the only thing you should keep in mind --- especially because of the lots of dwarfs --- is DISCONNECTS and lag (which does not register your Stand Up skill!) I just mapped out when I see / sense a DC or lag that can destroy it.. had a few close calls; about 40 map outs when I did it. (I had wireless, which is quite sensitive to any interferences). Lag / disconnects were the major enemies while I ran it :(

If you want to do it this way, get yourself XP scrolls, and when you are used to the run get gold scrolls. NOTE : Although HM gives you about 3x more XP than NM, the dwarves hit ALOT harder, so I wouldnt try that with an Ele... but maybe Prismatic Insignias everywhere and then add max 9 attributes on all (the dungeon has seperate skill bar), so +20 armor boost. I would also suggest getting daggers with a Shelter Handle for +5 more.

Yeah ... I want to avoid Killroy if I can. Especially because I have an Ele primary ... the low armor is a killer - and lag has destroyed 6 or 7 of my previous survivors. Although - to be fair, I was on 3G at the time, which isn't a great help. But if I'm going to keep doing it with my Ele, definitely NM.

Not keen on creating a new char from scratch and running her through to Gunnar's Hold - even on Factions that's a major pain. And the Factions run killed me once as well :( NF is by far the easiest, but it takes about twice as long as Factions to get to the point where you can pass to EotN.

Nice thing about an Ele/Rit Combo is that I can stand back and do my damage - and help out the party - make sure I have some speed stuffs on me, and haul ass when I see things going south for the group.

The other option you have is to buy Hammer of Kathandrax and hand them in for XP reward.

This is the safest way to max your Survivor Title.

You will need to get a runner to take you to Swithin Nye. The runner will take you into Catacombs of kathandrax and then just zone out, then you hand in all your Hammers for reward and max Survivor title. It takes 174 hammers to get to max level from level 10.

They sell for 2K each. That's 348,000 Gold.

Well if anyone is up for it I have a full GH and I'm looking for more people who want to hunt titles / HoM rewards etc.

Give me a shout in game: Arina Methos

I'm so irritated right now. I cant log in at all because I can remember my character names from two and a half years back. I can remember their first names but not the last names. I sent a support ticket to Arenanet support, but who know's when or if I'll get a response. I really wanted to play the game tonight.

Edit: By some miracle it came back to me. :D

Oh ok np.

For anyone else interested in doing Survivor within Gunnars Hold, here is some tips based on what I have done:

Its not that hard to get to EOTN from a new Nightfall character. I got my survivor character to Level 20 in about 4 hours 30 (taking it a bit carefully some places) -> get a ferry to the docks (low level is fine - just dont get yourself into trouble) in Kamadan (inside docks is Max armour as well) which should take you to Lions Arch.

Once at LA run to D'alessio's Seaboard (I think it was - actually the outpost where the grasping ghouls are on the other side of the wall.) This will be the place where you can EASILY get yourself to about Level 12 (or to Level 15 I would think - just XP alot less) - the first 15 or so Ghouls gives XP - just stand in aggro range while they get killed. Being solo in an empty district (go to International districts if other ppl are there) gives you max XP and with scrolls you level pretty fast.

Map, return, repeat until you are level 10 or a bit higher (just to get to the cave to EOTN in Kryta), you will be buffed to Level 20 automatically when you enter. Take it carefully through the caves, enter the next area; the only problem I would foresee would be some of those Mandragor's bleeding and poison!!! ... then run to Gunnars Hold.

Personally, with Eles, I dont think NM in Kilroy Stonekin's Punch-Out Extravaganza would be that bad ; just add some Prismatic Insignias (requires 9 in each elemental attribute), if Im counting correct thats +20 armour, giving the Ele a cool 80 Armour Rating. I think thats about 70% damage instead of 60 AR Ele base getting 100% damage. I did Survivor Title with a Derv with 70 AR. Only later (when I was about 80% to max Survivor lol) I discovered that modding your dagger with Shelter Handle makes a huge difference, and that was only a max of 75 AR then....

Bought EoTN for 9.99 and busy with that atm. :) Pushing my Ele (Glordit Adonis) through for titles then going to move onto my Mesmer... Might take a while tho...

Yeah I'm only going for titles on my main character, which is a Warrior.

I have a lot of patience for a game and love to play it, BUT I'm really not going to get every one of my 8 characters through each of the campaigns and max each title for them individually.

Seems a lot like work to me.

But that being said I have maxed 8 titles thus far on my Warrior so that's good. Also busy doing EotN books for rep points to max the EotN titles.

I'm focusing on one character as well ... makes no sense to do the same titles on different chars. With the exception of my survivor of course - that's a seperate char for a reason.

Logged in last night, got myself one extra set of elite armor, dedicated all my mini's I haven't added to my HoM yet - I'm now on 19/50.

Cool.

I made it to 31/50 now! So now I'll be just focusing on the rest of the titles in game that I were busy with to get them maxed. Also I need to get about 10 Heroes some armour for max reward in my Fellowship Monument. I need 2 sets of elite armor for the max reward in my Resilience Monument.

Since Sapphires & Rubys are worth more than ectos atm it will take a while to get the Vabbian Armour I need for the monument. I can't even begin to fathom the amount of time it will take me to get Obsidian Armour...

I'm lucky with that ... Vabbian was the very first set I got on my dervish ... and it took me a while too (sapphires and rubies were only worth about 5k back then). And Vabbian by itself is worth 2 points :D

I've noticed that the HoM calculator takes your account based achievements into account, so at least I don't have to repeat the process on my Ele main.

Yep, the account wide achievements are awesome. I have one main character too, so I want to do most of the stuff on him only, my Survivor and other characters would be mainly used as storage space :)

I'm stuck deciding if I should use my Ele or my warrior for the achievements. I already started the EotN campaign with my warrior. Might give my Ele a shot tonight and see which I will end up using.

My main is Warrior, she pwns all!

I just focus on my job, hurting things as much as possible! The rest is up to the healers to keep me alive.

I recently started using the Enduring Scythe Build, WOW what a build. Second highest DPS in the game, around 150 damage per second. The highest I scored was against some undead at 520 damage, but against normal foes it works just as well. I killed a Dwarf Warrior Boss with this build and scored 208 damage from 1 attack.

I also played around with some Sin skills and made 2 build using warriors endurance for energy management and fast spamamble attacks and EVAS (Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support and some enchants for healing from crit attacks.

Needless to say my warrior is my favourite character even though I have 7 other chars available to me.
