Guitar player' thread

Your riffs are good man don't waste your talent. I just love slayer, Most bands who cover them(not many) can't play slayer at the speed kerry and jeff play, I can (lol I know Sorry for the brag) I have never seen any one in this country play any slayer. And great idea on the covers. I should also do old school metallia covers as well. Let me know your progress.
 
Lol, thanks dude. It's cool man you can brag. :p I'm not the biggest fan of Slayer, not really into old school metal/trash metal all that much. However, I still respect all of them as truly amazing musicians (esp Kerry King) and I love their riffs (I just don't like Tom Araya's vocals that much).

I'm more into stuff like Children of Bodom, Made of Hate, The Wake, On Solid Ground, Six Feet Under, All That Remains, As I Lay Dying, Soul Embraced, Carcass, etc., etc.
 
I love my old school thrash. I Just think there riffs are alot harder than newer bands. My first song I learnt(remember I am self taught)was a slayer song. Have you ever heard these slayer songs. Angel of death and war ensemble.
 
Yeah man, I've heard all their stuff, like I said I love their riffs, but not the vocals. My favourite slayer song is Serenity In Murder. I am also self-taught man. Never had a lesson in my life and I don't know anything about theory or even scales. I just jam whatever sounds cool.

Same with me. I know scales but would not be able to name them, I just know. I can play angel of death and war ensemble(I can play kerrys solo in that song.) I like playing fast riffs they are so much fun:D. It's a pity you live in Bloemfontein. Would dig to jam with you.
 
Yeah man, that would have been awesome. I don't have anyone to jam with anymore, not since our "band" split up.
 
I can jam with my friend but it would only be for fun, He studying to be a lawyer. I don't know any body who I can start a band with .:(

So azi you reckon I got a decent axe. It plays maiden nicely. And your axes are awesome. Does that Ibanez have trem. I learnt the most awesome Iron maiden song. From here to Eternity. Can Play Janicks solo. I was adamant to get a guitar with a trem. And my guitar stays in tune for a while. Had a big job done on it for free at music connection. Now I want a cube 80x
 
Who thinks woman guitarists, The metal ones seem so hot. I would kill for a gf who plays metal

I miss my Ibanez electric; she was sold to fund a student loan :(

Right now I'm focusing on acoustic though, hopefully going to splurge on a new Breedlove or Tak early next year (or whenever Tom's has another mental sale).
 
Music connection has the best deals I reckon. THey can give huge discounts to people. THey took off nearly a grand on my guitar.

I am getting my pinched harmonics right. Just need to learn to use them in a song.

I struggle on Guitar hero and i always think to myself how the real deal is.
