Are you talking abnout the low power drives?

If so, I got myself one of the Seagate 2TB LP 5900RPM drives for my server at home. Just used for storage and I haven't had a problem with it so far. As long as you need a drive for storage only and not performance, these LP drives are perfect.

I have a Samsung 1.5TB Eco Green. Had it for just over a year & I haven't had any issues with it. Runs just as well as the Seagate's.

Toxin yeah those drives that uses less elect and have verable RPM. Will the performance be on par with HDD that are about 6-12 years old?

Nah, it's not that bad. They have 32mb cache so they're all right, you could run games off them or watch movie/series etc. Just don't try and run any Harddrive intensive programs on it (Video editing, etc.)
