Party time! Excellent!
I see there isn't a thread in here for Hawken, so I'm making one :D

Played it again this weekend, haven't played since it started closed beta. When i played closed beta I was like "meh, it's ok, but I got better games to play at the moment". Now in open beta it has truly flowered! They done so much to it I feel like a noob, but it's A LOT of fun as it is now and they're still working on it.

For those not familiar with Hawken, it's like a RPG Mechwarrior, only easier to play because the mechs operate easier. The direction you look in is the direction you'll be moving, non of that I'm looking north but my legs are heading west nonsense. :p

I'll definitely put it on my priority list.
 
Most threads' OP that start with "I didn't see any threads here with <insert name here" follows up with a post like "Omf, I didn't see that there". :D

Is this out already? Are there any local servers? If not, that would be quite disappointing. Been really keen to play this, I didn't even know it was out yet. We should get a couple of peeps together and jam this. Hopefully on local servers or public matchmaking? Not sure how the MP works?

I actually use the search function :p

They are in open beta now. No local servers I know of but I played on my shared 1mb line and it was smoooooth

once you've added your mates as friends you can send them game requests then they get added to your session

Hehe, so do I but it never seems to work :P (PEBCAK)

All I'm worried about is latency though. I hate playing 3rd or 1st person games with lag. It really sucks. I know some people don't "notice" or mind lag, but anything above like 80ms or so makes these types of games really unplayable for me, online.

well I'm not a fan of that latency prick either. we're having major rubberbanding with Neverwinter on our line. but I can tell you with Hawken I didn't see any issues. it was like playing LAN
 
I played Hawken when it went into open Beta originally, but the latency simply killed it, tbh.

well they must have fixed something cause I had no problems, and we normally have latency problems with everything

or maybe america was still asleep when we played :p
 
I shall put it to the test then! Once it comes out of Beta, that is :p.

PS. You can't always trust Graal :P
 
I played this game for a while...was a lot of fun...more a fast-paced FPS game in a mech than anything else. I did enjoy it more that Mechwarrior tho. Mechwarrior is a tad slower and more calculated. I just got bored playing alone lol...would love to say time to update...but then I would have to installed an IV drip into a casket of red bull so I have time to play all the games on my Pc at the moment! :D

I'll give it another try again. It really seemed like a great game, but I just couldn't play it with a high latency, which was basically every match seeing as we don't have SA servers for it. Against other people I had a definite disadvantage with the high latency.
 
My Rocketeer is starting to come together nicely now

and it seems there are a lot more SA players than I originally thought
 
I also prefer this game to like of Mech warrior for exactly same issue....legs get lost - no team work with body parts :D LOL
Must say I never really noticed latency issues when I played, actually did very well most games... really like this game. Just stopped playing cause its more fun with mates and was playing alone mostly.

Still have problem tho....soo many games to play now!

Age of Wu-lin - Blackswan went to a lot of trouble to get us beta keys, this game goes open beta this weekend, so really need to give it some more time as well..has a lot of potential.

well you should come join us. we got a group of 5 now :D
 
fast paced mech action has always been my dream since the inception of starting gaming! Would love to play this..
