HD 5770 Crossfire review (MyGaming)

Hm it's odd because a lot of other sites are considering the x-fired 5770 to be very good value for the performance:

Stability wise we have had no issues whatsoever except the afore mentioned texture bug in Anno 1404, which hopefully will be fixed real soon. We see commendable performance and great image quality as well. CrossfireX scaling as shown in this article is also very nice, in fact it surprised me a couple of times. You'll quickly gain 1.7x performance in a two-way GPU setup, and that definitely is a lot of performance for the money.

While we will be basing our score on the performance of the single card, the main piece of information we need to talk about here is the CrossFire performance which is nothing short of great. We see a good boost in performance in just about everything we test with it sometimes being the difference between a game being playable and not playable at higher resolutions with higher settings.

The Radeon HD 5770 performance when working in Crossfire mode was impressive to say the least. Although we are not normally advocates of multi-GPU technology, in this instance it does make sense. The Radeon HD 5770 configuration was able match or beat a single Radeon HD 5870 in almost every game, and costing around 16% less, that is pretty good value.

Yeah sounds good but once again its 128 bit. Maybe in crossfire yes

WTH are you trying to say?

On topic: And when it comes to international reviews, what they consider "value" , is not always applicable to us. Generally it will be, but we have some strange pricing here in SA , especially when it comes to electronics.

So right now, it may be cheaper to buy the HD5870 than two 5770's. (Or vice versa.)

On the review itself, how did the single HD5770 compare to it in Crossfire?

I just got my 5770 OC today, and its great. I paid just under R1800 for it which is about the same I paid for my 8600GT a few years back. Wish the review had results for a single 5770 aswell, but all I can say is I'm happy with it and I still have money in my wallet.

^^Another example of why we need to see the results of the single card's performance.

Or was this an oversight, and never actually considered?
