HD5870 worlds fastest graphics card, local pricing revealed

Agreed Gradius. The 5850 is looking like the better buy. After reading the reviews on Anandtech and HardOCP I am slightly underwhelmed by the 5870's performance. I think when nVidias cards eventually show up, they are going to thoroughly trounce AMDs offering.
 
First time in a while ATI .. er.. AMD might actually sway me from Nvidia

But I'm only thinking of an upgrade late next year, so lets see what happens

The top tier nVidia card will likely come in at R6000. Thats 50% more, but I am almost certain it will be more than 50% more powerfull.

It was the same thing when nVidia released there GT200 GPu's :/
When the Gt300 comes out, they'll just drop the GT200 to rock bottom prices to compete with Ati like usual...

Unless you're going to be running all your games at 2560x1600 it'll not be worth it IMHO.

I'll get myself the cheapest card that'll run my games 60fps or more at 1920x1200.

For some reason I see a 5850 in my future..... :)
 
Landmark must be importing it them selves. Good for them, but that price is R900 above what AMD SA have quoted as SA's official RRP.
