Headphones

Considering I bought a pair of these just to use on my phone I think it's safe to assume I don't "cheap" out when it comes to audio. ;)

Oh yeah the 215s are nice.

I had some fun with the 315s but I only used them for live performances. I'm a headphones guy.

Me too, but the 215s are also great for running / gym because of their noise cancelling and simply because they don't fall off or out my ears like other ear-canal earphones do.

Well, for those interested, www.onedayonly.co.za is selling the Skullcandy Mix Master for 67% off today. Only a couple of hours left... Price is down from R3500 to +-R1200 including delivery.

My wife's uncle is a pro DJ and he swears by them. He's been through Sennheiser, AKG, Beats and bunch of other brands and he said the Mix Masters have been consistently reliable in the clubs and at home. So, I bought my wife a pair today... When I receive them in a week or so I'll post some feedback.

Yeah but Skullcandy has proven to be very bass heavy. Probably why your uncle swears by them. I have a couple friends who have become DJs and they too prefer Skullcandies over anything else. Sennheiser can be too flat for DJing and the build quality on the Skullcandies is great for the travelling they do.

Yeah the best place to get them would be Paul Bothner music stores. Used to work there for 4 years and they stock pretty much all of them and will order them in for you.

Haha, awesome! I see their Centurion branch is right around the corner from my work... I'll go check them out this weekend. Thanks!

I know there are some audiophiles on here so I need some help please (looking at you DuckKnuckle)

I purchased the Corsair 1500 headset and while the sound quality is decent; the mic is so soft to the point I am returning them.

I think it's probably better to go with a normal headset and a clip on mic... So looking at options for a headset.

Some advice in the R1000 range will be appreciated. I think I saw in another thread someone mentions the Sennheiser HD 215... THey still the best option? It could also be a gaming headset but it seems you sacrifice a lot when going for a headset/mic combo.

Suggestions preferably from takealot if they have them...

I'm old school and like something that'll give beautiful bass with crisp treble.
