Hearthstone Thread

If thats true please post SS, kinda find it stupid if it is true that you can only have 2 of a kind in a custom deck but more than 2 in an arena deck

Nope there are no card limits applied to arena decks.

It's actually my preferred game type, there's far too much flavour of the month stuff going on in constructed.

Not to mention the kids buying tons of books with dad's credit card and u then running into copies of legendary decks they see from known constructed players.

I much prefer Arena ty

Not so much that, I just prefer drafting as a mechanic. It tests the persons ability to construct a deck under less than optimal circumstances along with their skill out on the "table" itself.

As far as legendary cards go I find them highly overrated. There are a handful of actual good one like Sylvanis, Tyrion Fordring, King Krush etc. However most of them are either situationally good or just plain bad. By the time someone plays their 8/8 <insert gimmicky legendary ability here> you will probably have answers on the board.

I'm still of the opinion that a well constructed general deck will clear most legendary heavy decks.

Not so sure i agree here... The legendary cards can be pretty inane... I agree you cant have a deck stacked with loads of them, but i watched a vid of a guy with about 4 or 5 legendary, and he purposely waited till he could play all in one turn and deal the opponent 30 death in one turn... Not saying you cant do it another way, but the cards certainly made it easier...

I still only have the one legendary... But im not gona pay for them so i suppose i wait...

Also prefer playing Arena, you never know what you're going to get. only problem is that you have to pay that 150 gold every time you want to enter arena, so you have to make sure you do some daily quests as well to make enough gold to be able to keep on playing Arenas

The chance to do that consistently is slim, It's a card game so stuff like this is going to happen as are things like turn 4 kills etc. Thing is I'm not sure what legendaries he could drop even at 10 mana in a single turn that would wipe someone. Besides that's 6 turns of a guy playing a less than optimal board because his hand is clogged with high cost cards. That's a massive window to thrash someone in.

Despite the fun I get from Hearthstone I still feel that Magic the Gathering Online(Not the planeswalker series the actual MtGO) is better from a game perspective and if you play smart it costs very little. It's UI is butts though and Hearthstone is WAY more polished and accessible for new guys.

Arena is better for a number of reasons. Chief amongst which is the fact that its not "PAY-TO-WIN" like constructed could be. also, i like the RNG aspect :)

okay, so i surged ahead into a 4-0 lead and was uber confident. it was all going so well in game 5. i have 3 taunt minions, plus one other arb minion. i then laid down a 7-7 WAR GOLEM and was ready to finish the game.

then...the barstard cast this card :

the slut stole my WAR GOLEM and it all went downhill from there. i then proceeded to lose 3 games in a row :(

Yip... This little bastard really is a game changer... Would a counter spell secret stop this?

No it won't it's not a spell it's a battlecry. Sylvanis is better for control, probably the best legendary.

Generally speaking though MC tech is a bit of a desperation play(90% of the time) if your opponent has 4 minions out on the board you haven't dealt with then you're generally in trouble. That or he's got a couple of weenies out and one big card then at best you have a 25% chance of grabbing the big one.

Yip true... In my experience though your opponent normally tries to kill what ever card you take the very next round... sort of like a screw you that was mine... Which is fine because it still gives you that turn wasted...

Is anyone having issues with this game at the moment? I regularly have games where I "lag", only to unlag and watch my opponent kick the snot out of me. It's been happening a lot more since the game went into open beta.

The game is now out of Beta. Perhaps servers taking strain?
