Hearthstone Thread

Priests are tough, I played with my Priest deck last night and owned a guy cause he didnt think destroying these cards are necessary:

http://www.hearthpwn.com/cards/117-lightwell
http://www.hearthpwn.com/cards/600-northshire-cleric

so while he was trying to focus down some of my mid game minions i was keeping others alive and drawing cards like a boss

thats a clever and sneaky combo dude! I am trying out similiar synergies with Hunter deck. but last night, i was just trying to level up the other decks. want to get them all to lvl 10

Lightwell can be a bitch to get rid of. I once went up against someone who played it in his first turn, I kept trying to get rid of it, and he kept buffing and healing it, I think it ended up having about 28 health, and I'm sure you can guess what happened next.

I got my priest to lvl10 last night as well as my Hunter to lvl 6.

But i lost a couple of close matches where i thought i would have won them.

if he played this or something similar it must have been lol'd - http://www.hearthpwn.com/cards/207-inner-fire

Think is the Northshire Cleric makes you pull a card whenever ANYONE is healed, so that works well against Shamans/Warlocks and Paladins, I've ended up the one game with so many cards in my hand, i had to destroy my cleric otherwise I were going to start burning out my cards :(

Yup, that was it. Not fun. Worst thing is I KNEW it was coming but still couldn't do anything about it.

Lol its like playing a mage.. you always know that Flamestrike/Poly is coming, but you dont know when and just when you think i got this game in hand after baiting the flamestrike and then playing a few big cards the bastard either freeze you or poly the shit out your minions :D

The unpredictability keeps the game interesting though. Think that's what I like about it.

But running out of cards can cost you the game as well, i had a match where the person ran out of cards and the damage he took every turn killed him at the end.

Yes, and that damage is +1 every turn.

So first turn without a card, 1 dmg, next turn, 2 dmg, next 3, and so on.

That damage stacks up REAL quickly, not too mention that if you've cleared his board, there's not much he can do anyway.

Some VERY clever decks are actually designed to burn through an opponents deck VERY fast and make them draw their own cards faster than they expected.

Also, if a player has 10 cards in his hand and he draws again, that card gets burned because his hand is too full!

Here is an interesting article on those "Fatigue" decks, where you force your opponent to draw all his cards and burn through his hand and deck:

Fatigue Decks

hmm...problem with this approach is that you may end up giving your opponent the very cards he needs to beat you. i think i prefer to play a more patient well paced game and rely on the strength of MY deck, rather than fatigue burn. but its quite an interesting strategy nevertheless and shows just how deep Hearthstone is

Agreed, by no means is this a tournament winning deck, but man, it must be fun to play :P

I had a great arena match as a warrior yesterday. I played Armorsmith on the first round with the coin, then another minion I can't remember on round two. My opponent promptly took out my minion. Round three I played another Armorsmith and another small minion. My opponent focused on the small minion, and did 1 dmg to the first Armorsmith. Round four I played my Chillwind Yeti :D. After another two or three decent sized minions, and bad focus from my opponent, I was on 30 health with 18 armour, while my opponent was down to 12!! :D Beatdown decks ftw!

I'm crafting Armorsmith soon.. :D

i absolutely HATE the priest class with a passion. sickening non-stop healing cowards
