Got the game yesterday and played till about 4 o'clock this morning. Got up at 11:00 and started playing again, plan to be playing till at least 22:00 tonight. If I finish it before then I'll start with the second playthrough immediately. This game is so awesome, I have never in my life been so emotionally involved with a piece of fiction. Quantic Dream have done an amazing job of getting the player involved in the lives of the games' characters. The choices in this game are insane, I cannot wait to finish it and start again to see how I can make things turn out differently. I have smiled, laughed and even cried while playing this game; my heart is still beating out of my chest after the last intense scene I had to get through.

If you have a PS3, go buy this game NOW! If you don't have one, make a plan to play this game ASAP. There is nothing else like it. If anyone else is playing this, I would really like to hear their thoughts on it, but keep it spoiler free.
 
A big THANK YOU to those retail outlets that broke the release date on this title. I also got my copy today (special edition) and cannot wait to start playing this title, even though it may only be this weekend. At R25,000 to R50,000 fine per copy sold BEFORE the official release date, I wonder why companies break release dates.

p.s I cannot believe some people CRIED while playing a game. Honestly. Sissy boy. lol
 
I think I'm gonna shed a few tears during the nude scene....how real do those boobs look?!? omw!
 
Quickly rounding Neo's somewhat disconcerting comment there.... I need to get this somewhere! Played the demo and it looks insane. Very different indeed. :)
 
I also played the demo and it took me away, was pretty impressed i was planing on buying before i played the demo since the storyline got my attension way back when it was still under wraps and we were getting drips and draps from this title.
 
Got it but I just need some time to get to it...

A friend of mine who is a ultra critical picky gamer finished it in 2 sittings he loved it so much! The game is only about 8-10hrs but he said it is well worth the price for what they have achieved in the game.

Just sucks how my time suddenly has been taken away from me recently...
 
I know how you feel. In between work and house chores, I'm also trying to arrange a wedding. So yeah, free time is far and few between.
 
I just finished it! Holy shit was that awesome! One of the best games I have played in my life, I cannot wait to see what David Cage and the rest of Quantic Dream comes up with next.

I'm waiting impatiently for March to start so I can download the DLC episode that came with my SE ... Going to start with my second playhrough right away :D
 
Yeah I played it man. Even though Fahrenheit was awesome, Heavy Rain is much better IMO. It's so much more than just a game. You can't compare anything to it, there's nothing else like it.
 
I played until the part where you're done playing with your kids (not a spoiler). So I've only played to see what the control scheme is like. It's pretty cool and totally different. The graphics so far is pretty amazing.

About the graphics....how is it? Compared to say...uncharted?

I would say it's pretty much the same, which means it's brilliant. The whole look and feel of the game is unique, so that makes it difficult to compare it to other games. So far, I am very happy with the graphics (being an eye-candy whore, that statement means a lot).

So far, the best graphics I've ever seen in my life on a console still belongs to MGS4. :) But I'm sure the nude scene in Heavy Rain might sway that title a bit later lol.
 
It is not graphically as good as Uncharted 2. Not to say that it is shabby, far from it. It is just some things can look pretty crud, but the majority looks awesome.
