Hi Guys

I need help building a decent gaming pc to play majority of new games on high settings I'm planning to get a 144hz 1080p screen but might get a 1440p resolution screen in future I have a budget of 25k and a extra 5k for wootwares 144hz 1080p screen just need help on the system I'm trying to make a build but I keep changing it after reading different reviews and honestly just need someone with pro knowledge to help me.

Please help :(

So my suggestion :

CPU : Intel Core i5 6600
Motherboard : Z170 based chipset
RAM : 8GB DDR4
GPU : GTX 1060, GTX 1070 or RX 480 (Budget Depending here)
HDD : 1/2TB SATA & 128GB SSD
PSU : Get a name brand 600+W PSU (Antec, Corsair, Coolermaster, something like that)

If you want I can do a full build with model numbers, etc.

There are a number of directions you can go with this build.
I would however advise you to get the absolute best graphics card (GTX1080) and a 500GB SSD.

I would recommend the following:

Intel Skylake Core i5-6600K, 3.50GHz, Quad Core, LGA1151

You would have to get an aftermarket cooler as the cpu doesn't come with a stock cooler and the point of the 6600K is to overclock it (More future proofing, more frames). I would recommend going for a closed loop cooler but you could always grab a Cooler Master Hyper D92 for less than R600.

http://www.rebeltech.co.za/cpu-cool...uminum-fin-with-4x-hdt-dch-copper-heatpi.html

You'll be able to pull at least 4.4Ghz with this cooler, it's also relatively quiet and takes up very little space.

YOu'll save some cash going this route and you can always get a clc later on.

I've also included the monitor in this build as it's something you would need. Keep in mind that this build doesn't come with an OS and you would have to spend close to R2000 for a Windows 10 key.

Alternatively you could go for a locked cpu (Intel Skylake Core i5-6500), you'll save around R700 and performance will be nearly identical, although you won't be able to overclock. (This also means you can save cash on not buying an aftermarket cooler).

On top of that, you could then opt in for a H or B series motherboard that'll save you another R500-R1000.

Thanks PsychoFish and The Joker for responding much appreciated.
Joker I see you listing a lot of components from rebel tech do you recommend me buying from them exclusively?
If I was to go for a closed water loop which would you recommend?
Also I was looking at a review on gtx 1080's is there a reason you chose armor?I was looking at zotac from wootware for same price.
Also anything special about that case? Looks standard if so could I change it?

BlackFang I would go with Joker's build is you can afford it. If you're going for the 6600K I would strongly suggest (as mentioned by Joker) that you use a Z170 based motherboard and an aftermarket cooler as you'll be able to squeeze just a little more out of the CPU through overclocking; If you don't plan on overclocking go for a H110 or B150 based Motherboard with a i5-6500.

That build will look something like :
CPU : Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor (R~3300)
CPU Cooler : Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (R~700)
Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-H110M-A Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (R~1300)
RAM : G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2666 Memory (R~1500)
HDD : Samsung MZ-75E250BW 850 EVO 250GB SATA6Gb/s 3D V-NAND 2.5" Solid State Drive (R~1700) & Seagate Barracuda 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (R~1700)
GPU : Asus ROG STRIX-GTX1080-A8G-GAMING GTX 1080 Edition 8GB GDDR5X 256bit PCI-E 3.0 Desktop Graphics Card (R~14000)
Chassis : Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case (R~500)
PSU : Thermaltake TR2 600W ATX Power Supply (R~800)

Should put you in the R25k bracket approximately

I deal with Rebeltech on a daily basis, done business with them since they've opened their doors.
So yes i would definitely recommend doing the entire build with them.

As far as the GPU goes, the AMP/Extreme is an absolute monster of a card, unfortunately there are 2 major issues with it. It is incredibly heavy, so you will end up with a lot of GPU sag, now this doesn't seem all that bad but I have personally seen a R9 290x Lightning rip out a pci-e slot from a motherboard. Then on top of that it's a huge card, this limits you on case choice and build choice.

The only downside of the ARMOR is that it doesn't have a backplate. So you may want to look at something else if that's the sort of thing that'll bug you (It bugs me lol).

Not only that most if not all GTX1080 cards overclock exactly the same, I've now tested it with 6 different models, ranging from the absolute cheapest to the Seahawk I'm running in my personal pc. Yes the AMP does come with higher clocks but with a quick overclock you can match it at any frequency. out of all the samples tested, the FE cards came out on top with an avg of 2126 on the core with the other cards all hovering around the 2050-2100 range.

As far as the case goes, It's your choice at the end of the day. I'm a fan of the new Thermaltake designs. I've built in a few of them and they impressed me a lot and honestly for the money there aren't really any other cases that offer the same specs as the that Thermaltake.

Cooling wise, it depends on the budget and what you want to achieve with the cpu. Realistically you should be fine with a 140mm rad and cooler, although not a very popular choice these days. Most guys go for a 240/280mm rad and cooler.

Any of corsair's new coolers are great. You could also look at the new Antec range, although they aren't available just yet. Another one you can look at would be the Coolermaster MasterLiquid Pro (Will be available soon)

Antec Kühler H1200 Pro

http://www.rebeltech.co.za/cpu-cool...-loop-sealed-coolant-system-271x120x25mm.html

Cooler Master MasterLiquid Pro 240

http://www.rebeltech.co.za/cpu-cool...erliquid-pro-240-mly-d24m-a20mb-r1-spray.html

I'm using one of these at the moment.

Corsair H100i GTX / V2 Hydro Series

http://www.rebeltech.co.za/cpu-cool...eries-cw-9060021-ww-cpu-water-cooling-co.html

Like I mentioned, it's a solid build, it's not the cheapest build but you are getting quality components for really good pricing.

Feel free to drop me a pm if you are interested in overclocking your machine, inc your graphics cards ect. I'll gladly help you out.

I'm thinking of overclocking cpu but now my only thought's are the tower, cooler and gpu.

Case wise in my opinion you cannot go wrong with Thermaltake, Coolermaster or Corsair.

My current build is on a CM Elite 371 case; My HTPC has a Thermaltake case

What I like about the CM cases is the cable management is second to none, almost everything is removable and modular plus the airflow is amazing.

Okay so bit worrying about the Zotac and might change my choice but if I was to get a zotac would it fit these 2 cases?
http://www.wootware.co.za/phanteks-...c-windowed-mid-tower-atx-desktop-chassis.html
http://www.wootware.co.za/phanteks-...um-steel-micro-atx-tower-desktop-chassis.html

I don't see any reason why it would not fit. The big decision in my humble opinion with regards to case selection is (a) Air Cooled or (b) Liquid Cooled

The rest starts falling into place depending on that

Okay so I have made up my mind.

CPU: Intel i5-6600k

Mobo: MSI Z170A Tomahawk LGA1151

Ram: 16Gb (2x 8Gb) 2800MHz

SSD: Samsung 750 EVO 500GB

GPU: Zotac 1080 AMP Extreme 8Gb (Found a way to resolve the GPU sag)

PSU: EVGA 650W 80 Plus Gold Certified

Cooling: Corsair H100i GTX / V2

Tower: Corsair Carbide Series Clear 600C Inverse ATX Full Tower

Monitor: Acer 24” Full HD (1080) 1ms 144Hz

My only concern is will my PSU be fine?

What model is that PSU? EVGA has a number of 650W PSUs and I would basically recommend EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G2 Power Supply (P/N: 220-G2-0650-Y1) or EVGA SuperNOVA 650 P2 Power Supply (P/N: 220-P2-0650-X1)

The others are ok, just stay away from the EVGA 650 BQ Power Supply (P/N: 110-BQ-0650-V1)

Now the thing is why is that one which is 700W cost less than the 650W

The EVA is modular whereas the Coolermaster is not, also the EVGA has better Amp ratings on the individual rails than the Coolermaster.

Don't think you can really go wrong either way though.
