HELP!! Cod4 punkbuster failure

Hi all

This weekend I bought myself CoD4 so I could join the world of online gaming (and I capped my international bandwidth:( )

Problem is; after installing it and patching to 1.7, when I join a game I get booted in less then 30 seconds:

"RESTRICTION: Server Communication Failure: PnkBstrB.exe handshaking failed."

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me fix this, I owe 2 people death for fragging me in those 30 seconds.

I'm on local only bandwidth at present...

Thing is i use local bandwidth and I never experience problems with PB at all.... on time i get kicked from a server is if it says something along the lines of nvr_25000 or something to that effect.... and it only happens on one specific Saix TDM server :rolleyes:

I would suggest going into Taskmanager end the Punkbuster tasks and try reinstalling it and see if that works...

Rate_25000.

Promod uses 25000
Normal Servers (TDM, HC etc) 15000

Nope, it's not controlled by your mod its a setting in your config. Oh and sorry I swapped them LOL. Promod uses 15000 while normal uses 25000, promod PB kicks for anything over 15000

When last did you play!
Promod is 25k and it switch you outomatic to it.
Normal servers is 15k and don't set it automatic.
As for the handshacking problem can be your firewall blocking one of the servise.
What you can try is run the services manualy, and make sure its not getting blocked.
Also did you update punkbuster?

I keep on swapping the rates around for some arb reason, prolly because I never set it cause I never play normal. SO I had it right the first time :p
 
Ja, once PB is updated COD4 works 100% on local only cap. also download PBSVC from evenbalance.com, remove all PB services, reinstall them, then re update

iGame allows for rate=25000 on all their cod4 servers, not just the promod ones...

Glad to see you got sorted though!
