Joker you an AMD fan are you not... Take the AMD and use the change to get games...

R3k+ on a mobo is madness unless you plan on overclocking.

Spend a bit less and chuck in an extra HDD or some games, perhaps?
 
Both brilliant rigs... I think the Intel system would get some slightly better performance results. i7 out performs the AMD at this point in time, and it's got 6GB RAM, but it's a tough choice either way.

My mouth waters thinking of having that kinda PC.
 
I would take the Intel rig. Both are nice rigs but the Intel rig looks better in so many ways. It should give you better performance and as an added bonus it's an awesome case!
 
I vote option 2.

i7 is the best CPU in the world right now so its a no brainer.

I would also look at getting the gtx 260 216 personally, its a bit more but will last a bit longer.

Its a lot to spend though, mostly because of the CPU and motherboards chosen.

I'm not sure I would go with either of them right now

Well, if I take the I7 it works out costing about R1.8k more than a Q9550 but then when I want to upgrade I won't need a new mobo and ram.
 
I'd also go with the Intel option but agree that that mobo is just madness .... there are a range of pretty darn good mobo's for much less.
 
Sorry bru, I should have also added that that Processor is also not needed (just my opinion), I reckon a Quad is gonna last for some time.
 
But if I get a I7 now though it will last long and I would only have to upgrade my gfx card, but you guys are welcome to post the rigs you would get.
 
Hey guys, I see you guys like option 2 more!!
Ghost only realised now that the mobo on the i7 rig is crossfire, so just swap the Nvidia card with the 4870 toxic.
 
I don't know when you are going to buy Ghost02 but I'll go have a look at prices over the weekend and tell you what I would have bought if I had that much to spend on a new pc.

I take it this machine is going to be used primarily for gaming?
