Help me DIY something

by one min now I am just trying to find her what resistors she needs but my books are atm in pretoria and can't remember how to work it out.

Strange that it didn't work. Also though, why is the red wire coming out of the 2nd slot and not the first one? The wire order is like this usually. So you might have been connecting the light to 2 ground wires, instead of 1 ground and the 5V line.

i had a spare cable like this from an old GPU that i dont have anymore and just decided to cut it up.

For 5V input, to reduce it to 3V while having a 15 mA current you'd need a ~130ohm resistor. However, we don't know what is on that circuit board apart from the 2 caps we can see and also something that looks like a small transformer.

ok USB works!!! just shocked my self too...lol

now just have to figure out how to get the light to stay on cause there is this silver transistor thingy that i have to touch for the light to go on. i think the black rotating wheel thing might not be making proper contact somewhere

Good to hear you came right. The molex connector should also work if you want to install it in your case (and connect the right pins )
