by one min now I am just trying to find her what resistors she needs but my books are atm in pretoria and can't remember how to work it out.

i had a spare cable like this from an old GPU that i dont have anymore and just decided to cut it up.Strange that it didn't work. Also though, why is the red wire coming out of the 2nd slot and not the first one? The wire order is like this usually. So you might have been connecting the light to 2 ground wires, instead of 1 ground and the 5V line.

i will give the USB a try now
ok USB works!!! just shocked my self too...lol
now just have to figure out how to get the light to stay on cause there is this silver transistor thingy that i have to touch for the light to go on. i think the black rotating wheel thing might not be making proper contact somewhere
of the light on or of the silver resistor thingy?
