Hi All

I am a very big technology fan. Mostly computers and home audio/visual equipment. I repair, build, upgrade and maintain PC's after hours. Sometime I get a PC that gives me a headache and keeps me awake until I get it fixed. I use the internet to get solutions to problems I can't figure out and thought I would like to get your opinions on where you guys get your help if you have PC troubles. Whether it is online or from your friends, please let me know

Yeah Google is my friend.
Stuff I don't get from google I ask on forums or have learnt over the years through magazines, experiences and chit chat with people in the know.

Expierence, The Joker, The Forum, and Google...

The maunal is your friend in the troubleshooting section most manuals have solutions to basic problems that sometimes do occur.
Other online aids, usually the manufacters forums some do exsist.

Last resort send it in for warranty if under one.

I use google to solve my problems and there is always something who has experienced the same problem on the internet and found a solution for it.

Typing some sort of descriptive phrase into google will almost always take you to a similar question asked on another forum.

To which there is almost always an answer or the beginnings of one.

Yeh, I dunno if I completely agree with this part though...

99% of the time the real problems (not shit like "my taskbar is disappeared rofl!") have threads that never get resolved, or end with "Nevermind, I got it, pls lock!" or worst of all... ZERO response altogether.

But yeah, with some extra Google search knowledge and the use of some Boolean, you really can manipulate that thing to your bidding.

Well, yes Google is a starting point 99% of the time. I bookmark sites like tomshardware,3dguru and then the manufacturer websites for quick referals

1. Ask myself, struggle, try things out and perhaps work a few swear words into the exercise
2. Ask Google (sometimes I use Bing... if Google is down :))
3. Ask a friend
4. Ask the forum
