Here are 5 terrible movies based on games

I'm strangely addicted to Uwe Boll movies ...... I know, I know! I dunno why but I'm compelled to watch them and then berate myself afterwards for watching such crap. And then the next one comes out and I blindly do it over again :o
 
Haha, Tomb Raider had digitally enlarged boobs so it felt disingenuous to put it on here.

As for Doom... it's pretty bad, but a lot more entertaining than a Uwe Boll movie.

Sadly there are many horrible movies based on games. Remember Street Fighter with van Damme? And more recently, Tekken? Oh yes, of course, and Resident Evil. I played all the games and thought the movies were nothing but a cheap imitation.
And the Final Fantasy Movies? I thought adventchildren was not bad, bordering on average. Final Fantasy: The Spirit within was shit.

You forgot the very first game-to-movie franchise-raping movie, Wing Commander. What a pile of crap. I feel like digging out my old Prophecy CD's just to forget the thing.
 
Mario was terrible. I watched it when I was young and thought what the hell am I watching this is not mario this is terrible. I wanted to cry.

And bloodryne was so bad I could not get through it all. Watched alone in the dark for five minutes nearly puked.
 
I absolutely loved and still do, Tomb Raider, it was a great movie and Im a huge fan of the games. Probably one of the few good game-movies. And I thought Doom wasnt too bad, worth watching. The Mario movie came on tv once and I was so shocked at what they were wearing I immediately changed the channel and decided right then and there that it was a terrible movie. I remember not liking the 2nd MK movie, but would like to see it again to remember why. Isnt there a 3rd MK movie? I think I saw one in a video store once. As for the rest on that list I've never seen them, but I've never played those games either.
 
I've only seen one movie on that list, the MK one and that was only cause it came out on M-Net, I was 16 already and the whole MK thing was done by the time this atrocity came out.
 
You guys left out the ultimate badly made game-to-movie... metal gear solid. If you have not watched it yet... watch it just to know how low one can go.
 
Doom wasn't that bad. Okay ... it wasn't good either - but it was moderately entertaining. Enough that I don't regret watching it. I do regret spending money on the ticket though. I should probably have sneaked in.

Wing Commander is worthy of mention - all I remember was that the movie rushed through the plot so quickly my head was spinning when I left the cinema.

Tomb Raider? Debatable. I've managed to sit thr ... [BOOBS!!] ... err ... nevermind - it was awesome!! :p

Street Fighter was horrendous. Spirits Within I actually enjoyed. I might watch it again actually :)

No mention of Double Dragon? WTF?!

I went (as a kid) to the cinemas to watch Street Fighter (van Damm) and Double Dragon back in the day...so sad
 
I watched Wing Commander at the cinema when it came out, it was uhmm average, I tried watching it again recently and yeah I only got through the opening credits. Oh forgot the horrible Dungeons and Dragons.
 
Street Fighter, albeit a crappy movie, is still memorable to me.

It had Kylie Minogue in it as well as one of Raul Julia's last films before he passed away. You'll remember him as the actor who played Gomez Addams in the original Addams Family movies.

GI Joe's movie adaptation was terrible. (fair enough the action figures and comics came out before the awesome tv game) :/
