I got this in the mail today :

I wanted to send out an email and let you guys know that we recently patched HoN to include a brand new front end interface, match making, a tutorial, optimizations, and quite a bit of polish.

To coincide with this new patch we have also announced the beginning of our Open Beta. On Wednesday, March 31 @ 4:00 PM PST (-8 GST) we will begin accepting beta registration which require no key. When Open Beta begins the pre purchase incentives of the Golden Shield, Golden Name, and Taunting (SMACKDOWN!) will no longer be given to accounts.

Saai....

Here comes the noobs :/

Kinda shit though no pre-paid "perks" :(

Yep, can expect a flood of people never having touched DoTA/HoN for the next 3 months. There is a pretty slick new tutorial though, teaches you some basics and more advanced stuff, might make them a little less noob in their first matches.

Anyway, I don't expect a huge amount to actually stick around. The learning curve for HoN generally weeds out a lot of players.

LOL. I is a noob at HON.

I had it for months. I updated it yesterday. I wish they was a pvt game where we noobs can play alone with a few mates and leave you experienced players to play in Pro games.

Update:

The incentive of having your account *marked* with the Golden Shield & Golden Name and the ability to Taunt (SMACKDOWN!) in game will end. Those who pre purchased prior to the beginning of Open Beta will continue to have those benefits for free

Anyone have any ideas how I can connect from behind a university proxy server??? My uni blocks my TCP port 80 which kinda makes alot of online games unplayable. Praying that Starcraft 2 will be able to connect....(coz battlenet for warcraft 3 works. think it uses UDP protocols or summing)

Are you sure, because you wouldn't be able to browse the internet then because that is the port for HTTP.
