Played all weekend along with 4 other guys on my account and line... 1GB gone lol :( Where is the local server???

That's still a bit high though, it would be much better at about 30MB an hour, hopefully that is coming.

Killed map hacking - they were hacking maps in the beta already? :O

Yeah, there was a maphack, and a resulting banwave. Quite a few people lost their pre-orders because they maphacked and now their account is permanently banned. All the replays are saved on the servers so, its easy for them to verify and ban. S2 states in the EULA that they take a firm stance on cheating, if your caught, its a permanent ban, no refunds, bah bye.

Anyway, the maphack no longer works and while its never possible to completely eliminate the potential for cheats and maphacks, S2 has at least shown that they come down on offenders with an iron fist. This was never really possible in the current W3 DoTA setup, maphacks are just a part of the online experience there.
 
Maphacks are theoratically impossible to do now. Packets that contain the location of invis units and units in fog just aint send to the client anymore.
If you wanna maphack now you gonna have to gain access and control of the S2 servers.
Doing something like that though is a criminal offence and will land you in jail.
 
I would rather we get our access to the seacom fibre, than a local server. The ping isn't noticeable I've heard that local bandwidth may become more expensive than international
 
Looks like we'll have to wait a bit longer for the local server. Think the okes of iGame took a small break this weekend seeing as they worked their ass off during the week on the HoN server.
 
I get a bad data error when ever i try to login, it never happend before today:confused:

Could someone please help me? Today day's my last chance to play....:(
 
it will, when they put updates up servers go offline they load the patch and it comes back on, try later
