Historical console market growth in SA revealed

Console growth seems interesting barely changes significantly every year would have thought differently.
 
I agree that growth in 2013 will likely be poor, we had so many specials every week towards the end trying to clear the stuff. I think 2014 is gonna be a huge spike
 
I love statistics. There's a lot these numbers can tell you. Comparing these numbers to the games released per year can have an indication as to whether individual games do influence the purchase of consoles. Also would be interesting to investigate why 2012 sales is so low, because to my knowledge, that was a great year for gaming. Maybe the fact that the console market matured so late in SA (like 2012 late) had an impact? Oh goody, I'm gonna have fun with these numbers....

I'm hoping for this as well. The bigger the communities the more attention we'll pull which could only bring good things in the wake of gaming to SA.
 
Im not so sure... I would have expected 2013 to be decent, i mean there were, and still are, so many bundles with PS3'3 and 360's...

Yes but in 2013 we learnt about the ps4 and xbone at the start of the year.

1. Would you replace your 360 for another 360 or wait for a ps4
2. Would you rather buy your first ps3 or wait a little longer for a ps4

I think next gen got people saving up their change

I think 2015 will see a big change seeing as people will wait out the 1st gen Xbox one and PS4 to go through with or without a hitch. They will purchase the 2nd gen when all the problems which may arise get rooted out, I usually do that here and prices also drop substantially after 2nd gen comes out.

Shockingly I still have a working X360 Zephyr, sounds like a helicopter though works like a charm.

I would love that, but they make money by selling research reports. However, I'm building a good working relationship with them and this is why I can get some interesting angles from their data without undermining their business.

Wow :p my current xbox 360 is quiet as a mouse, would not want something that noisy lol since my laptop has already taken that spot. Wonder how quiet these new systems are?.
