Hitman: Absolution discussion

Mine finally finished downloading last night. Didn't get time to play yet, but I did however get to set my graphics and benchmark the hell out of it :D. Gonna be putting in some hours this evening!

Weird thing however, I unlocked 2 achievements. Must have been a glitch. One for running a benchmark, and another:

Inconspicuous
You remained undetected throughout a checkpoint

The achievements that were unlocked by playing the Sniper Challenge... does that automatically show up in the game or do I need to link to it somehow?

I threw a screwdriver into some guys neck and got an achievement for that. Thing is I was trying to distract him.

Played about 3 or 4 missions so far and I am LOVING it. :D I get what people say about the levels being smaller, but it doesn't really bother me as I don't think the game would have run as smoothly on my PC if the levels were bigger. :p

Haha!!! LOL this game is great fun, I really don't mind the cover system works pretty well imo and so does the other mechanics... I tried contracts mode last night... This is seriously going to add longevity to the game with minimal effort :)

Ok so I sank in about 5 hours last night and I must say, I am really enjoying it.

However, I am too needy when it comes to mission outcomes, I keep restarting checkpoints to get the stuff right instead of just going with the flow... But I must say I think the cover system works really well, and I really enjoy the quicktime events for melee combat.

EDIT: The only thing I am not really enjoying too much is the instinct mode. Its kinda like a cheat code that give away the possible outcomes of the mission before you even get a feel for the map. The thing I enjoyed most about Hitman in the past is that you really had to try wiggle your way through a stage before you found out the various ways to execute your target...

LOL, I'm pretty much exactly the same. Can't tell you how many times I've restarted a checkpoint because I want things to go my way. :p As soon as I finish the game I am going to replay it in a kind of "mass murderer" style though. Also think the cover system works great and I love the quicktime melee combat as well.

Ok, finally getting around to this and busy tweaking display settings.
I manage to get 30fps with settings on Ultra and MSAA on 2x. Is it better to descrease some of the other settings and try increase MSAA or doesn't it really matter? I don't really know what settings affects what.

Really enjoying this game. Starting playing on Friday and wasted most of my weekend playing this game. Graphics are excellent, even on medium settings, the story and the sounds of the guns just amazing. Got my silver brawlers back... time to dish out some pain!

Got this game day one.. Played it to death..:P almost at 100% but now just hunting for achievements.. Think i only have one left but I need a friend to create a contract first.. So now I wait...:)

Played the first two levels today. Maybe it's not a bad game, but it's definitely the worst Hitman game I've played. It's like they took everything that made Hitman Blood Money great, and then ripped it out.

Im thoroughly enjoying this. It might not be the most polished game ever, but its still fun, and that's the main thing. I enjoy the stealth missions, but at the same time when you get a bit fed up its also satisfying to just pick up two smg's and waste a room of thugs, especially since you haven't done that in a while :D Over all, great game, and much better than dishonoured.

I feel like the PCGamer review nailed it.
ouch! all good points. But gaming for me has always been about the 'entertainment experience'.
And, personally, the experience has been fairly entertaining thus far (... I think I'm on the last level)
But that's just my opinion.

Anybody know why we're only getting the Hitman HD Trilogy in March?
It seems that it is being released in the US today and on 1 Feb in Europe. (Unfortunately only on PS3 and Xbox)
