[Hobbies] Underwater Photography

Sorry for the bump,

Just a quick update: I got contacted by an Marine awareness author from the UK who wants to use my photos in a new piece she's doing on night diving at Sham el Sheik in the red sea.

I'll let you guys know how it develops.

These images in this thread are amazing! I did a free diving course at the end of last year, and i was the only one with no diving experience what so ever... so it didnt go to well... Not a complete disaster but not great...

Iv got one of these little gems...

Its the Drift Ghost, pretty much the only competitor to the Go Pro... Its a great Cam and also goes for about a grand cheaper than the Hero 3+ with pretty much the same specs... Great cam, with awesome underwater footage! off to find my octopus vid...

Nice looking cam, hope you at least enjoyed your experience :)

I did a bit of freediving with the blacktips before and after the 1hr scuba session. Wish I brought my weightbelt along (wetsuit made me buoyant as all hell) Felt weird bobbing around the top with 3-5 big sharks below you instead of being on scuba between them. We saw a big tiger on the same dive.

Btw, the one guy who was diving with us works for Submerged magazine, he had a rig with 7 different action cams on it which he is using to write up a review, when it comes out i'll hopefully put a summary of it on here.

Sorry for the long absence...

So the book was published and the pics came out pretty cool. I think my night diving segment was #18 in the book.

Anyway, just got back from my latest dive trip where I used the Canon Powershot S120 this time.

Ran into a group of hammerheads.

Haha cheers! Nah it's not so bad. I have no problem diving with sharks, but I can't approach pretty girls. Go figure!

In case you're interested, here's unedited footage of the first bit of the dive. The fun starts around the 1min30 mark.

Noit bra.... I get heart palpitations just from watching that... the ocean scares me and my biggest fear is drowning.

Texting and driving is waaaay more dangerous.

Suppose it doesn't help telling you that at that particular spot we were sitting at 35m with the ocean floor being another 800m below us.
