Home Invasion

Roomys

Will post for beer
Hey Guys,

Its with a heavy heart and a fearful mind that i write this. It is something that you hear about, think about and wish would never happen to you (If it has i really do feel for you)

Last week Thursday at 00:45 my family and i where victims of a home invasion. We where tied up for 2 hours hands bound behind our backs lying face down on the bed and questioned and interrogated for currency, foreign currency and jewellery plus the usual cellphones wallets etc. They threatened that if we withheld information they would put our baby in the microwave (this is yes the same threat as the one heard on the documentary by Louis Theroux)

I am moderately bruised from trying to defend my wife and 5 month old child, however we have our lives and we are thankful.

I don't want to go into too much detail on this, but they made off with a bunch of our shit, left all our gaming pc's intact for some reason and we unbound ourselves within 1 hour of them leaving (according to Skytrax on our vehicles)

All i can say is guys, protect what you have make sure outside lighting is sufficient to cover all areas of your property and always be vigilant.

Sucky times for us here at the Roomys household, we are looking to move to a gated community.

Stay safe guys.

Sorry to hear of this my friend! You left me with a very heavy heart, I thank the Lord you and your family are in good health and no harm has come to you guy. May the Lord bless you guys and keep you safe. My prayers go out to you in this time of need. If you need anything, and I mean anything, just give me a shout!

Regards,
Beo...

Thanks S

We have all the support we need, the problem is in the mind at the moment.

Thanks for your prayers mate.

Sheesh that's horrible Roomys. :( I'm glad that you and your family are safe though.

Roomys, damn!

Incredibly sorry to read that bro. God, that's a horrible thing to happen. I'm very pleased to hear that you're all safe.

I hope those f*ckers got what was coming to them!

Glad you safe and sound, how did they get in?

We are thinking of putting booms up on our street to stop these kinds of people from getting in.

Eish that's rough. Glad you guys are OK at least.

Be sure to consider trauma counciling.

I'm with Havoc here, my wife and I had a similar experience some 8 years ago. Be patient, this is going to take some time to get over and go for counseling.

Thankful that you were not physically harmed in any significant way.

That's horrifying! I've heard about all the crime in South Africa, but I've been lucky enough not to find myself a victim of it, in the three or so years I've been here. I keep hearing about how people are "driven to crime through desperation", but anyone sick enough to threaten the life of a baby, especially in such a twisted way, is just trash that needs cleaning up. Ugh.

I'm not sure if it's you, but I remember playing Rust in a clan with a guy named Roomys about a year ago, and if it is you, you seemed like a decent fella. Sorry to hear about this, and I wish you and your family a speedy recovery from the damages, be they mental, emotional or physical.

I'm really sorry to hear that happened you Roomys. I hope you guys get through this tough time with sufficient strength.

That is a terrible experience to have. Because since that day, you will never feel safe again, ever.
Just be glad you and the family are safe.

I'm so sorry to hear Roomys. That is absolutely terrible to hear. So glad you and your family are safe. My thoughts and prayers goes to you all.

Roomys I am so sorry to hear of your ordeal. *huge hugs* I am thinking of you and your family. And I agree with the others, go see someone, talk it all out so that you gun start working through it. Otherwise you will struggle to feel safe again.

Ah man, sorry to hear that Roomys. Please give yourselves time, and go for counselling especially.

The number of people in my immediate circle who have been victims is just obscene. I really feel with crime in this country, its not a matter of if it will affect you, its a question of when...which is such a pity. My folks were also held up in our home by gunpoint, midday a few years ago in Dbn. They have since emigrated and although they haven't specifically said it, I believe its due to that incident mainly.

Oh wow Roomys, I'm so sorry to hear about this, I'm glad you are all unhurt at the very least. That must be a real nightmare!

I have no personal experience with this kind of thing, for which I am very grateful, but some good friends of ours had their house broken into, and the robber attacked the husband with wine bottles that he picked up in the house, and cut him up really badly, from head to feet, he had something like 27 wounds, which thankfully didn't hit any major organs or arteries (he's really lucky to be alive), but he needed a lot of surgery, and his one arm and wrist probably won't ever be quite the same, and he's got some serious battle scars. They never stayed in that house again, and have since moved to Germany.

I'll add to the chorus: I'm so thankful that you're okay! That's all that matters here, everything else is just stuff. Good luck with working through this, and I'm sure you know that there are loads of people on MyG that you can talk to if you need to talk to someone. A whole TK full of people, to be exact!

You and yours are in my prayers, man.

I don't know how people can threaten a little child like that, it's really sickening
