I didn't play Homeworld all that much back in the day, but I've always been yearning for it since. This will be the ideal opportunity to get back in!
 
I saw that, but not going to get it, just going to go into my growing list of RTS I think I can play, but never get into. SupCom...being the best example...

Bought...... Yep 1st time in years I pre-purchased a game.

I don't think there is a bigger fan than me.

I'll wait for the release and eventual Steam sale, as I do with every game out there. I've never pre-purchased and probably never will.

cataclysm is tied up in so much legal red tape they got no clue where it starts or ends

sad really as it was a lot of fun, wish they could've added it here

More a case of da code is gone.

The recently announced Remastered Edition (formerly Homeworld HD) from Gearbox Software, the new owners of the Homeworld IP, have been updated to be fully compatible with all versions of Windows and includes both updated and original copies of both games. This collection will not include Homeworld: Cataclysm as it has been reported that the source code for this game has been lost, while others report that potentially former developers have a backup and that the audio assets are available.[

And it is sad really, as it had a really interesting dynamic re the ship shields using small fighters, also the plague was an odd way to lose your best ships.

New 37 minutes of gameplay. Wow, this looks incredible! They're working on Steam workshop support too, so the mods...man the mods are going to be insane :) Having recently been getting into RTS, my eye is on this one.

 
So aparently they removed the fighters need to refuel in the remastered ed. Anyone know of anything else they removed?

Not sure about any significant gameplay changes, but am assuming there will be some differences from the originals, especially in HW1. In an interview article on RPS Chris Faylor from Gearbox says:"Any of the biggest underlying tech changes have been as a result of bringing Homeworld 1 into the Homeworld 2 engine."
