HoN, LoL, DOTA2 and Prime World?

There's been a lot of "MOBAs" announcements lately all over the world, but this one caught my eye the most. It looks good, it sounds good, it plays well. Animation and Voice acting(extensive stoy driven tutorial) along with music is top notch. Don't expect stiff moving characters...

If there's gonna be a "MOBA" that gonna get into a market dominated by LoL, DOTA2, and HoN it's gonna be Prime World, simply because it's different enough and brave enough to introduce new mechanics that in the end of the day actually works.

*Sex matters, you actually get opposite sex skills.
*Environment matters, if you capture a point the land changes, and skills gain additional effects.
*Instead of summoners, you get lords with castles. You actually build your own castle/building in order to gain resources which can be used to buy more heroes/talents etc.
*There no items(apart from consumables, tp scrolls). All heroes gain a default tp skill though with long cooldown.
Instead you get Talents which can be bought from anywhere around the map providing you have enough prime(gold). These Talents include what would be traditionally considered items and your skills are thrown there in between and are highly customization on a per hero basis. This game has Lots Of Depth in that regards.

Currently it's in closed beta, but due to the lack of knowledge about the game beta key are easy obtainable.
Beta tests are only on weekends, so the current one will end early Monday so now would be a good time to check it out whilst you can. This isn't just some EA cash grab, this is insanely well done, and could give the likes of LoL a run for it's money if it should become more popular.

Did some research on this, looks really fun.

Register at mmorpg.com and get your beta key here. I'm not sure if beta keys are region restricted or not.

Also some gameplay [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAE-Q1v6eFU]here[/URL].

Busy downloading it now, will report as soon as I've played a few games.

Did you actually WATCH the video? That's prime world defenders.... A Tower defense game :p

Oh my soul...I knew something wasn't right there. No little characters jumping around and casting spells, instead some shiny cards and buildings...

/facepalm

edit : link fixed.

I just signed up. I almost jumped for joy when that green bar comes up that says : " Congratulation!!! " You just signed up for beta ". I thought I was chosen :(

Found this, freaken 700 Talents...
Btw if you get to stage where you can upgrade talents, if you have doubles you can immediately upgrade that talent to the next level. Otherwise you have to sacrifice a lot of talents.

No, castle is a part of a meta-game.

What’s different about core Prime World’s gameplay is it’s focus on meta-game.

For example, you don’t buy your boots or armor in store during battle – you can buy wards and potions, but everything else you equip between battles.

You have 36 slots for talents for each hero and it’s up to you what to equip. During the battle you only unlock stuff you’ve already equipped – a little bit like MTG, only not that random.

That gives us several opportunities: we can have a lot of talents (we currently have around 700) and still keep learning curve manageable.

Every hero comes pre-equipped (like a starter pack in, again, MTG), but you will want to change his talents to suit your play style.

Also, we have six different game modes (three radically different ones and three “mods”), persistent leveling and talent upgrades.

It’s un-DOTA in every sense – it’s not about cybersport, it’s about macro-management as well as micro, it does have clans system and so on

I played it last night, at the current state it's not for me. MOBA gameplay doesn't compete with LoL and the castle building business really isn't for me.

What's wrong with the gameplay exactly?

Nothing 'wrong' really, it feels more like HoN and Dota 2 in how the combat is. I like the environment mechanics but I never much liked HoN and Dota 2.

There aren't any items aside from some potions. Instead you give your character 'talents' before battle and in battle you upgrade abilities using 'Prime'....

I have played LoL for a long time so I suppose that might be why I don't like it, because I am so used to the 'simpler' way that LoL plays. It just seems much more slick in terms of UI, and combat.
