Hon Retail Date Set

I've been hearing so much of this game. A friend of mine, also an avid DotA player, says he didn't like the game because there were all sorts of satanic references and pentagrams everywhere. Is this true? I've been avoiding this game because of that. I know DotA isn't innocent either with Luci being an actual playable hero in the game, but I don't want to play a game that's worse than that.

Help a noob out pls.

Bwahaha really? I mean, really?! Rofl... Than you my friend should avoid any game worth playing! Definately avoid games where you have to shoot/kill/steal/swear, etc. DEFINATELY avoid Dantes inferno!

Yeah okay. No use in ripping the pond out from under the duck's ass. I don't like games with satanic references - too bad if you don't understand what it means to have personal preferences. And BTW...Dante's Inferno sucks donkey balls, so to use that game as a motivation for satan-promoting, demon worshiping BS games is quite fitting.

So if you'll kindly keep this topic on track - I'll wait for my Pic.

Dude, u dont know Garena???

Considering that I have almost 2k hours logged in HoN before its even released, I'd say that its good value for money =)
Top notch game, features, support and infrastructure. S2 has made big strides in reducing the almost impossibly steep learning curve of the genre. Its still steep, but its at least easy to get into games with only new players and they have some excellent tutorials built into the game now.

EDIT:
@Neo I haven't seen a pentagram in the game, possible I have but haven't "clicked". It's not an "evil" game by any means.

Thanks for the info man! I'll watch some game footage tonight when I'm at home and not using the company network for game vids :D If it looks okay to me I'll probably get into it seeing as a whole bunch of you are playing already.
 
think the only evil pentagram sign in a ongoing game is the ultimate symbol that is drawn when hellbringer the hero, uses his ulti and a giant balrog looking (LOTR) demon pops up that is only mediocrely useful for damage but is quite a tank to bring down

And perhaps maybe the hellbourne sign? or the random symbols in the background? (I think they took that out)

Well the two factions are Legion and Hellborne. With Legion being all manner of delightful woodland critters, brave knights and wise wizards etc. The Hellborne are made up of the more naughty wizards and witches, monsters and demon type beasties. The only pentagram I can remember seeing is the Hellborne badge.

Basically it's your usual good vs evil type game, with no one side being portrayed in a better light than the other. So while there are demons and things in it I don't think it's really promoting it.

You can choose which side you want to play on (unless you get auto balanced) so you can always play on the Legion side and smite verely the evil scum that is the Hellborne.

ps. on reflection I do remember pentagrams with the words "Slay the innocent" being flashed for a split second on my screen every couple of minutes of game play :P
