Howzit guys,

So I wanted to get myself a new avatar but when trying to apply it I noticed that the pixel size was too big :(. So Google some more and found the exact same image but with a smaller pixel size (Still too big for the forum :(). So I was wondering how do I take away some of the pixels of the image I want?

Ok so what you actually asking is how to resize the image...Because pixel size refers to image size actually. So it comes down to the same thing as screen resolution. So if a picture is 1920x1080 that is its pixel size. If you want it smaller you would have to use a image program to resize it to what ever the forum specifies. I use GIMP or ACDSEE to resize my images because it is quick and painless.

What format is you picture in Duke? JPEG, GIF etc

open your picture in paint and then resize it and save it... thats what i normally do.

I've got paint but have never been good at it :(, how would I go about doing this is paint?

Irfanview is pretty powerful, simple to use, and free.

Thanks mate, I looked at it and am just deciding whether to use Paint.Net or this...

Or as an alternative Paint.net. I find it to be one of the best free image editors.

Lol, dude where would I d/l it? I'm looking and can only find a link to a free scan of my PC :p!

Dude are you on Windows?

Just use paint? You can scale by percentage, just scale by around 60%and you should get something useable.
(just remember to "save as" so that you dont destroy the original

Yeah you can use windows 7 paint. Just click "Resize" and set your values.

1. Open Paint
2. Open image
3. Click Image in drop down menus.
4. Click Stretch/skew
5. Adjust percantages for both horizontal and vertical.
6. Save as (change file name to preserve original.

OR

Thanks guys I'm trying and am getting whacked results :p!

How do I get and image that is 80x80 pixels? I try with the sliders but can't get 80 on both sides :(. Lol I'm such a n00b when it comes to these things!

Select pixels and type in your desired values. Untick Maintain aspect ratio if it won't change to 80x80.

Thanks for helping me out guys!!
I finally did it :D!! I just need to wait for Photobucket to get back online now...

Thanks again!!

Just for interest sake if you've got MS office there's Picture Manager under the MS office tools - quite easy to use and works well.
