How has your gaming experience evolved?

So we all started off small with gaming, but do you remember all the games/ consoles you've had? Which you enjoyed most and what you wouldn't mind going back to? Can you name your first? The most memorable should always be the first:D

My very first game was this:

I played Atari at a friends home before I got it, but Donkey Kong Jr was mine. I honestly wish I still had that game even if it's just for the nostalgia.
When I went to high school, I got my first PC so it was Dig Dug, Saboteur 2, Impossible Mission 2, Montezuma's Revenge etc.
By the time I got my second PC, I have moved on to adventure games. If Sierra or Lucas made it, I played it.
After a few years of [-]heavy drinking[/-] studying, I started working and earning a salary. My tastes have now evolved to include all genres except MMO and RTS (with a few exceptions).

Showing my age here, but my first 'console' was the Commodore VIC-20. You had to 'load' programs/games code from cassette tapes, then run it. Code was written in BBC-Basic IIRC, so you could change it as much as you wanted to.

That was followed by the Atari 2600. Game I remember the most is Pitfall!

Then.... PC (x86)... and... I've had a lot of different gaming devices.

The initial ones were crap. Some 100 games on a CD rubbish.

First proper one was Warcraft 2. Tended to play on God mode because I was like 10 years old and sucked. :D

Grade 10-12 were the glory days...back then internet sucked so we had nice 10+ man LANs at someones home. Braai, beer and jamming late into the night.:love::love:

Since then it has just not been the same...open internet gaming is just not the same thing....and to some extent I pity the kids that grew up with servers where every 3rd comment is an insult about your mother. :o

Haven't been to a big LAN event though...so can't say there.

I had a famicom then moved to sega genesis between that I had a sega game gear. Then I got a pc,then a gameboy colour,then I got a ps2 then pc,pc,xbox 360,pc :p

I started with a 486 SX 25Mhz back in Grade 1. Never had a console up until the XBOX 360, which I got in 2006.

Game-wise, I used to love Lucasarts and Sierra adventure games, as well as RTS. My tastes have evolved somewhat to turn-based strategy, RPG, third-person shooters and MMO.
