How is polarfluke still a thing?

I enjoy TeamLiquid but sometimes I crave local ... so off I trod to polarfluke.co.za which has a website updated 2 years ago?

Some folk posted links to replays of the whole exhibition match they had the other day. Megarom sponsors them. Yet, there's absolutely no activity on that site, even their IRC channel sits idle with some guys just there (most probably bots)

This site, with it's reputation, has so much to offer, but no one bothers updating it. They just rollin' in the sponsorship monies probably? And/Or keep things "l33t" and "s3cr3t" for some reason? Hell, don't even see PandaTank news, fuck-all

I'm more interested in knowing what happened to Polarfluke that caused them to be in the state they are in?

Well if ever I hear the name Polarfluke I think SC2 comps... lots of them, all the time... So I too would like to know wtf.

sad to hear this happened to polarfluke and fluke :( he used to be super active, maybe hes just lost the drive to carry on .

Hey Guys,

I have had a lot of feedback over the last week or 2 regarding the site and updates. As you can see not much is happening on the site as it is, but that is all set to change shortly.

The MyGaming Dota 2 SECS will continue on these forums while a new StarCraft II: HotS cup series will also launch in the next couple of weeks.

For any of those who haven't kept up to date, I also posted a blog post on the site (http://polarfluke.co.za/index.php/community/latest-blogs/376-a-brief-history-of-polarfluke) that explains what has happened especially in the last year and might give some insight into why there are so few updates.

I appreciate that you would even take the time to mention it here and will try not to disappoint the community any further. If you have any ideas for content or ways to more easily keep content up to date, please dont hesitate to message me, I am always up for some constructive thinking :)

BTW, I think it's shitty that you had so many assholes a long the way, but I could have told you NAG/MSSA are a bunch of dick cheeses and you should rather not bother with them.

Running tournaments yourself is fine and dandy, my advice would be to maybe concentrate on the social aspect of these games. As I said before, become the TL of SA, where gamers will go to get what they need in terms of local content first, before having to go to DoGaming/MWEB/whoever else to see what's going on there.

Also, not sure how long you've been gaming, but way back in the day with the first SC, there was a ladder system where you could challenge each other, and then post your win (and get it confirmed by the loser) etc. Something like that could benefit your site even more and make it stand out even further since Blizzard Ladder ranking isn't really geared for a community and showing rankings within that region/competing community.

You can then further expand that and have a tourny for top players only, playing against the "pro's" etc and further work on our skills. I want to see SA represented at MLG and events similar to that some day :)
