How long does it take you to get to the office?

You guys really live on a bright side of the planet...

I live in Pretoria and work in Johannesburg CBD. Approximately 67 KM each way, through 5 highways (R21-R24-N12-N3-M2).

If I break the law or travel off peak hours, 45 hour tops. Usually around 1.5 hours, but the worst ever is... 4 hours. To get to work. Its scary cos it makes you realise how many accidents really happen on our roads (I drive past a day at least).

Also work in the Joburg CBD, takes me 15 minutes to get in.

Same here, they closed the r21 once so I got stuck there for 2 hours, took me 4.5 hours to get to work! Really didnt enjoy that

Wow a lot of people here work from home, or really close to home. It usually takes me 45min - 1hour. Although I suppose not all of us live in Joburg

5mins for me, the best part is the sleeping till 7:45 to be at work at 8:30. I refuse to apply for jobs to far away from home - waste more petrol and the salaries doesnt cover that.

Takes me about 15-20min to get to work. Used to take me 50-80min...... those were crappy days.

30min to 45 mins. Depending on accidents, which happen every single day on the N2. I used to leave early for work, but I realized that I only sit in traffic longer.

I worked from home for 3 months straight. All I can say it is not for me. Working for 3 days from home and going into the office for 2 days will probably work well for me. Then again being stuck in traffic for more than an hour one way is also not on.

Life is in PTA, work is in JHB. Life > Work I guess... But I know what you mean.. I think about it every second I am in a car.. Is it really worth it.
