How old is your hardware?

Ok what ima think ima do tonight just for fun is get my 350mhz P2 up (its the small form type) and run 3dmark on it :D

Dude I think 3D Mark will turn itself against you and throw you a middle finger and tell you to get lost lmao :p

Gone are the days when our software wasn't so complicated... and it didnt require much to play our games :o

Mother board, CPU and GFX card are about 1 or 2 years old. My 40bg HDD is getting close to 10. my 80 gb is about 5 and my 250gb is almost 3. My box is atleast 5 years old. the power supply is about 2 years old. my screen 1 year. my keyboard 7 years, my mouse about 3 or 4 months. my speakers 8 months. UPS is little over a year. my gamepad almost 3 years. my stiffy drive is older than I am. and my DVD drive is also about 5 years.

Lets take this into another direction I just saw guys tearing at each other on myb about price vs qaulity

So what did you buy on budged and what did you buy that was expensive. Witch one broke and witch one did not break.

Budget PSU
Bought 2 Ikoni PSU one 500w and one 600w 500 one just died and the 600w still running strongly. Payed about R550-650 each.

Expensive in my mind:
R350 Logitech head phones broke within 2 weeks.

As far as internal hardware goes. noting like that. But over the last year or so I've had to replace my mouse 3 times. and it was usualy the cheaper mice that broke within a few weeks.

I actually still have some hardware from the 486 era, including a 486 mobo and an ISA Creative sound card about the same size as a modern graphics card. I have a big drawer full of ancient artifacts like that.

It's funny, but with me its usually the cheaper stuff that lasts. My little Gigabyte optical mouse cost me R60 and is a little over 4 years old now. Still going - although the left button is starting to get a bit dodgy.

@ Shadowfox,
I like the cheap mouses... Simple and effective.

My hardware is atleast 8years old... Don't play that much games so it doesn't bother me so much...
Work PC is much better...

s3 savage 16mb video card
it still works (can't remember why i tested it though) - although i had attach an old cpu fan to it to keep it cool....

Download PC is an AMD 2600+, 512MB RAM, GeForce3 with 200GB HDD. Still have an old CTX 17" CRT that is about 9 or 10 years old? Not sure :)

Generally i upgrade a few pieces throughout the year so my rig never ends up being too old, id say max about 3 years. So right now the oldest will be my case which the only reason im still keeping is because i love it. Got it as a gift and still using it
